Labored breathing with P10
Re: Labored breathing with P10
BTW here is my first day/night with the F20.
I had a pretty amazing nap in the afternoon after getting my cheeks under control. After the nap I didn't make any adjustments to the machine other than increased humidity by 1 because I noticed my mouth was very dry. Sadly the sleep was not nearly as satisfying as the nap. Woke up feeling tired and foggy. Any input is appreciated as always.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
There is no difference in the size of the frames. The only difference is the color of he magnets. The magnets on the for her model is purple and the magnets on the men's frame are blue. The for her headgear is the same size as the small headgear for the regular F20. My wife tried the for her model, but prefers the regular size headgear. I purchased the for her frames for her to use in order to make it easier to tell which is which after I take them apart to clean them.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
I notice there are quite a few CAs in the screenshots you have been giving us. Maybe this has something to do with your problem? CAs mean your body isn't taking the breaths it should.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable can weigh in on the significance of all his CAs?
Also, regardless of some stupid slobbering in this thread, the Airfit P10 has serious serious problems when the vents are clogged. I posted about this issue in the previous thread: http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread ... #pid287639
I also linked back to an earlier post of mine in another thread, where I discussed the airflow in more detail: http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread ... #pid285024
If you look at the graph I included, it's very very clear that there is almost no airflow when the P10 vents are clogged. Respironics machines, such as mine, make this very clear in what SleepyHead calls Leak Rate. That is the total airflow and it falls almost to zero when the mask is clogged. Unfortunately Resmed users can't see this as easily because that machine reports airflow differently.
It's very very important to keep the vents open for the Airfit P10.
Can you die from clogged vents? Maybe! I'm not about to play "you bet your life" to find out. And I certainly am ignoring the pompous twit attempting to minimize this serious issue.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
At this point I think your problems transcend the P10. But, because of the current subject line, you might not get the attention you need.
I suggest you start a new thread and say (in your own words of course):
1) I'm using the F20.
2) I'm feeling tired and foggy.
3) Here's my latest SleepyHead chart.
4) Please help.

The absolute majority of his CAs occur at the beginning and end of his sleep session.SnoringInOregon wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 9:30 pm

This suggests they are SWJ and probably occurred when he was awake or transitioning into sleep.
If we disregard the the CAs at the beginning and end of the sleep sessions, the AHI (CAs) would drop from 3.57 to 0.95.
Don't worry about the CAs.

I agree. The problem is that unless I have a brand new P10 handy for testing, it's hard to guage when it starts to clog because it is so gradual. My insurance sucks and I don't want to buy a brand new P10 just for testing against a potentially clogged one. I cleaned the crap out of the vents and I can blow air through them but it's still very hard to exhale even with EPR on 3 (the highest) so I am a bit perplexed as to what it could be.
I've moved on to an FFM for now. It may be just the ticket if I can get the leaks under control. If not I may turn it in for a new P10 and do some testing against my old one. Although I must say I don't really miss the before bed regimen I had with the P10. Bite Guard, Mouth tape, headstrap, neck collar, then the P10. It was a bit ridiculous compared to the ease of this F20 but it's too early to tell if it's giving me any benefit.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
If you decide to go back to the P10, the vents for the P10 are on the cushion. Therefore all you need is a replacement pillow ($19 on our sponsors site).
Edit: I just took my P10 apart to wash it ..... sorry, I was wrong ..... the vents are on the frame ...... I haven't used the P10 for a number of months
But you can buy P10 frames on Amazon for $51, $54, $64 USD at time of writing . They seem to have one-- pillow and frame, but no headgear.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
Are the P10 vents really this bad?

I don't think you said what you meant to say.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
No, they're not.
It *is* possible for them to get blocked, if they're not cleaned, but it's not 'a thing'.
Considering how popular the P10 is, how many people use it every night.... if it was as big an issue as a few yammerheads are trying to make it out, ....
The forums would be *FILLED* with complaints.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
i don't know if there is a particular bad batch or what. been cruising on my p10 for over two years now with no vent issue. i cleaned the vents ONCE when they started looking darker. it didn't miraculously make them function any better.
thanks to advice from palerider long ago, i have two sets and had been switching them out. but haven't done that in awhile.
so i've been looking at sluggish's posts with a jaundiced eye.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
I’m sure it’s different for everyone. I know in my case the vents would usually feel fine when going to bed but after about 5 or 6 hours they would get clogged with water causing breathing difficulty and then I naturally default to mouth breathing and push through the tape etc.. If I didn’t use any humidity my nasal passages dry out and stick together/swell etc... Switching to a different nasal mask I could tell the difference right away. Resmed mentions this issue in the documentation. Others have reported this issue. Most people seem to have no issue or are not reporting it. Beats me.

Re: Labored breathing with P10
Found the same thing thing with the p10. Needed the large instead of medium. recently started using the p30i. The large for it is the same size as the p10 pillowbernieb wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 10:49 amI wear a size medium for almost everything I have used but the P-10 medium felt restricted so I am happy with the large size P-10. There is definitely a noticeable difference. I still switch around from P-10 pillow to P-30 and dreamwear cushions. Going to try the P-30 pillow soon but not sure what size to order for that.
