How Fat Are You?
Not heavy....
I'm 5'2" and 130 pounds. I have had apnea for over 15 years and I was about the same weight when it started.
Age: 57
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 210#
Cholesterol: 119
Triglycerides: 210
Everyone in my family (both sides) tend to the shortish and roundish. I am the tallest in the family. For my height, I am the least overweight in the family. I have noticed that my neck size has increased over the years, used to wear a 15" collar, now wear a 17.5" And gravity has taken its toll....although my weight hasn't changed in the past 10 years, my waist size has by 2".

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.

I'm 6'2" , 345#s.
I'm huge and I hate it. It's killing me and I know it. I also know that only I can do anything about it. I'm lucky in that my lipids are acceptable, my BP is acceptable and my blood sugar is low-normal. Arthritis is killing my lower body joints though.

I am glad that you asked that question and not me...but i was curious
I'm 31 (female) 5'3" about 196,was 207 I've been both more and less...I'd like to be 135...currently doing aerobics 5-10 times a week at home(I get too stiff if I don't)...my theory is that I might feel more like feeding myself better when I can sleep better...My goal is to eat less sugar, exercise regularly, thus losing some weight, elevate the mood, less pms,and bring the trygycerides down.
Sorry if that was too much info.

Height/weight
Okay. Sigh. I'll weigh in, too . I hope that little joke hasn't already been done - I didn't read all 15 pages. As we say in Minnesota: Uff-da!
5'9-1/2"
53 years young
230# - have yo-yo'd all my life, and have lost and regained 50-plus pounds twice in just the past 6 years (once due to being sick, and once with high protein diet). I'm currently just trying to be healthy and get more exercise and not worry about the weight, and am losing very slowly. Exercise is tough now, with arthritis, but I joined the YMCA, and do aqua-aerobics 2-3 times/week. I do all of my snacking in the middle of the night, so I'm hoping that CPAP will improve the outlook.

Hmm... I'm underweight and definitely in the minority... and am glad I was diagnosed. I lost a lot of weight after I had my babies and figured the tiredness was connected to the weight loss. I had very low energy and spent lots of time trying to figure out why- all my blood work, etc, came out normal. Fast forward 4 years and my husband is the one who figured out I had sleep apnea! None of the doctors ever thought to mention the possibility!
So- I'm almost 40, female, 5'9" and 118 lbs.

hi im a personal trainer with 7 years expiriance. and while keeping a good diet and fitness level is vital for weight loss the most important thing is determination. without determination you will fail instantly. the most important thing to remember is it wont happen overnight but over time you will see results.a good diet should consist of protein, essential fats carbohydrates and a limited calorie intake. keep within a 2000 calorie maximum when losing weight. But you must also know when to stop. eventually you should all reach your target weight but make sure you stay within a healy weight range. becoming too thin can be as dangerous as being obese. good luck

I am 6'3 and 575 pounds give or take 20 or 30 here and there. I say give or take because the only time I get weighed is when I have something medical done and they HAVE to have my weight. Most Doctors I go to don't have scales that go past 350 pounds. The last time I was weighed was when I had my heart checked due to chest pain and they did a stress test and had to use my weight to calculate how much stimulant to give me for the test. Before I got disability for my many medical issues I tried to give blood for money.
When they where processing me for giving blood the nurse had me step on a scale. She was surprised when it flat lined and wouldn't register. She tried a few more times to get it to work before I finally said " I think I see the problem" I looked at the back of the scale and I read the label that was upside down and the limit was 440 pounds. The nurse looked shocked and then asked the head nurse what to do. She came over and told me if I can't be weighed, I can't give blood.
The real fun part is when you go to see the doc and the nurse insists on weighing you even after you tell them the scale is to small but they insist anyway and then give you that look after that you purposely tried to be right.

Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught.
