I'll vote if everyone in this thread is listed. This is actually kinda funny. Most of the perps thinking Knightsleeper and I are.

Did you guys miss the subject matter at the top of the poll choices????
LSAT was real specific as to who he thinks the troublemakers are.

poll.JPG
It doesn't show till after you vote.
Are you in the app or on a computer? I'm at a desktop, and it said the names right below the subject line. It also let me see the results before I voted.

I had to think about it for awhile. I don't really like banning people, and they will probably just come back as new accounts. But they really are disrupting the forum far more than snarky comments from long time participants.

To the new people. Yes, we get snarky sometimes. We try to help as much as we can, but it does get tiring when people come in and complain about the setup of the forum (no categories, low moderation, etc). Or they fail to read to read the sticky post and/or refuse to answer the questions we need to help (we aren't psychic). Or they come in with a whiny attitude about hating cpap and don't actually want help, but waste our time.

We understand that new people are new, often grumpy and/or upset about the diagnosis. But keep in mind, we see the same issues come up over and over again. It is hard to keep the responses new and positive all the time, especially if the new person is being difficult. It is also easy to misunderstand the attitude/intent behind the text on the screen. We can misunderstand you, and you can misunderstand us.
Some of this is quite good.

Require a 7 day wait time before a new member can post. This wait time would slow down trolls and require new members to acclimate to the forum before talking. Also eliminate OT play ground threads for the fun club. Have the forum focus on help.

Overall I like this, but I think instead of 7 days, the first couple of posts need to be approved.

I voted... I had decided to not come back because of all the ruckuss but I had a few pms from folks letting me know that I needed to come back and vote  I know that my common sense can be a little heaving handed at times but the bullying that was going on about a few of our long time members was just too much to handle. Common sense or no common sense, a few just took off repeatedly and kept up the bashing and inciting others to chime in.... not acceptable!!!!!

Cheers and here's to a much happier place for others to ask for help and GET IT from those that have the appropriate answers.

The voice of informed reality, we do need yours, Common Sense, isn't so Common. Or maybe it's the Uncommon lack of sense, that shouts the loudest, and most often. Jim

Why only those two?

Freedom of speech is a two way street (or a double-edged sword).

Yeah, I voted. If I don't like what people say, I ignore them or the threads.

Because those two have recently created topics for the sole purpose of bullying others. They also regularly participate in adhominem attacks and name calling.

One of them regularly hijacks other people's therapy topics, to attack others, won't stop even when asked to stop by the moderator, then blames others when the topic he disrupted gets closed.
Freedom of speech is a two way street (or a double-edged sword).
Freedom of Speech doesn't apply here.

This forum is a part of private enterprise. All actions here are a privilege, extended to the forum by the owners. They get to define who and what is spoken here.

If you saw someone giving ba therapy advice would you ignore it?

Because often when that happens, and somebody corrects bad therapy advice they are called a bully.

You haven't been here very long, have ya? ;)
This crap has been going on for about 15 years. Get over it.
This forum belongs to the Goodmans and THEY decide whether freedom of speech applies here......NOT US!

Trust me, I've seen some pretty "bad" advice (or opinions) dished out on a regular basis. Some, by some of those who have been considered forum "experts". I TRY not to fall into the name-calling and the castigation of those who do it......wasn't always the case but I continue to strive to be a better person. If I DO see some offering "questionable" advice, I try to offer my point of view and let the person make their own choice. All any of us have to offer on a forum is from our own experiences or from what we've read from others. Each person has to sort through what people say and decide if that will work for them........try it, ignore it, file it away for future reference or whatever.

Life is too short to be hateful and nasty. And, it's getting shorter. :(

To those who were the objects of this poll.......I say.......try to be nicer and adopt the "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." philosophy. The "Golden Rule" is a good one to follow.

The first post *does* have to be approved... due to spam. Unfortunately, anything that's not *obviously* spam gets approved.

After the days of Snoredog, this stuff sounds a lot like a pinkie-out dinner party, eh?

Extensive new-membership delays could be life-threatening to a newbie in need, in my less-than-humble opinion.

Yeah, and I miss that old fart........although he died in his early 50s........apparently a family curse........father and at least one brother, too. He may have been cantankerous and opinionated, but he was usually pretty "spot on" with advice.
We've also lost a number of others from the board, too.

I wonder why..hmmm. You guys are a perfect example of liberalism. Call the other side what you are, or do what you accuse the other side of doing lol. Funny stuff. A great reflection of society as a whole.
