I think with that impressive post count you have going you think you know everything. Sort of like sex: "you either do it and don't talk about it, or you talk about it and don't do it. That's why I'm always suspicious of people who talk too much about everything." There is a lot of real knowledge here but I'm not sure where or if you fit.

Factual errors
"Wallace and many other Scottish characters ride horses while dressed in kilts. Even in times and places where the kilt was actually worn (it wasn't worn anywhere in Scotland in Wallace's time, and at no time in history was it worn in Wallace's part of Scotland), men who expected to ride anywhere wore trews, not kilts, for the very good reason that it would have been an extremely painful and impractical experience; no underwear was ever worn under the kilt. Kilts were not invented until the 16th century, more than 200 years after the events in this film."
There seems to be lots of factual errors with that movie.

Oh, not a problem.
You're wrong about this. Current societal norms have created a situation where "straight-talkers" are viewed negatively. People are too damn sensitive and get their feelings hurt way too easy these days. I personally appreciate straight talk. I don't have to guess what the person I'm communicating with is trying to say. You should do yourself a favor and do some reading here before you start blabbing ignorantly. Palerider spends massive amounts of his personal time sharing his technical expertise and knowledge on this (and other) forums to help people who are struggling with CPAP. Efficiency with words is one way that he's able to help so many. And when things get light in long-running threads he plays along with everybody else very nicely.

You are obviously a VERY unhappy person and now you're making chit up on me with this victim crap.
Be less important, less aggressive and move on. Better yet please put me on your ignore list - that will teach me to have an honest opinion - outrageous!![]()

I write:
Nobody despises a person that talks tough and can't back it up more than me.
Palerider talks rough and backs it up every day. He has my respect and I think is the kind of guy I could sit down with and have a beer (or two) with.
You however. It remains to be seen. Toughen up a little. This forum can be good for you. If you let it.

You're totally right.nikkwong wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 11:10 pmPersonally I hate Palerider's snark remarks. I am certain that my experience mirrors many: I came to this board when I was at my weakest and my health condition being the most precarious. I found that Palerider's comments were often tangential and his attitude was always condescending. It made me felt belittled and made me not want to engage with the forum. I would be surprised if I am the only one feeling this way.
Further, most successful forums have some form of strong moderation because characters such as Palerider do a great job at diverting serious conversations into needlessly flamey hate-wars and pointless arguments. CPAPTalk would be so much more useful to me & the community in general if a strong team of moderators stood up and banned this type of behavior.

No, let's be honest and be able to properly call a spade a spade. There is absolutely no reason why responses need any tones of condescension/arrogance etc in them. Newcomers to this forum are visiting CPAPTalk because they have not been able to get sufficient help from their health care providers. One should be able to emphasize with that state of mind and understand that a lot of these people are desperate and looking for help. I was definitely in that camp; and many-a-time I was rudely flamed for asking serious questions. There was a lot of good, too, but the negativity was unnecessary and distracting. This is not 4chan. This is not reddit. If people were looking for "lols" I think it would be reasonable to assume that there are other forums that would be more appropriate for that.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 11:20 pmNikkwong: you might be happier on another forum, where feelings outweigh help.
If you want a heavily moderated forum there are plenty out there. Why do you want to change what makes this place special.SDBud wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 11:27 pmYou're totally right.nikkwong wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 11:10 pmPersonally I hate Palerider's snark remarks.
