I am not sure how to explain it but look at the areas that I underlined with yellow. When you look at your breathing its nice and even mine is all over the place. It gets fat then narrow. I think the area I marked in red is me turning over or adjusting the mask.
That's what I thought you meant, and what I was talking about testing to see if a little less PS would help even that out.
Thanks. :). Will try ps3 tonight.

Couple more questions, to clarify for me. Is this wiggles indeed kicked off by an arousal? And are you looking at the wiggles only, or the entire zoomed timeframe?
Specifically, I'm talking about the time after 3:30:00 in the pic of hers below:
What a novel idea referencing the "event" in question by time!

Thanks for adding the chart markings. Helped me out. I'm always trying to learn here, and I wasn't sure at all what was being discussed.

No problem. I need to remember to use the proper terms. I did know that was amplitude. I just need to remember my words and use them. The brain fog, has erased a bunch of my vocabulary.

Last night the amplitude looked a little better overall but it was still all over the place. I woke up about 5 and changed the PS to 3.6 because at 3 it was making my chest hurt a little (like when I first started cpap making those muscles work) I will try again tonight.

Frankly, my dear... your breathing is more even than mine, and I wouldn't worry about it.

You're welcome to continue to experiment, but, like chasing zero, it may be a game of diminishing returns... (if any).

But, without trying, we won't know how you will respond, how you'll feel. etc.

Oh that is normal? I see all the nice straight lines in other posts and thought it wasn't supposed to be like that. If its normal I will quit changing things.

If you look at the overall evenness of the flow rate in yours, it's pretty smooth. It's not perfect, because (presumably) you're not a machine. If you look at the overall flowrate on many other strips that are posted, many?most? look more uneven.

I can find periods of mine that are nice a smooth and even for a bit, then rough and uneven. but I don't worry about it....

Like I said, if you want to experiment, then by all means, go ahead and do so... but I'll be surprised if you see much in the way of improvements in how you're feeling. Do let me know if I'm wrong about it.

Different sleep stages and stuff affect your breathing, and, as you know, you cycle through various sleep stages throughout the night.

Remember those other physical issues you have....they will also impact your sleep and thus affect that breathing.
I have a flow rate that is worse than your in terms of visual evenness from the overall zoomed outward scale. Some may be related to changing positions in bed, some may be related to changes in sleep stages or even asleep vs awake.
If you thought you had to have an overall smooth looking flow rate with no bumps or spikes....that is unlikely to happen and you don't need to anyway.

Thanks. I was looking at pics of the nice even breathing in the dreamport thread.

And thought there was something wrong with mine. :) I gues a few squigles should be expected from squiggly meat bags. like we all are.

Hey now! You apparently aren't aware of the pull you have with the aliens! Last time you threatened me, I got a visit!

Hey....I will do anything to get those little SOBs over to someone else's house for a night so they will leave me alone.
Unwritten rule around here....whenever someone brags about how good something went...the aliens go screw with them to put them in their place. That's why I don't brag very much...I learned every time I did that the aliens read this forum and decide who to go screw with. Braggards...they move to the top of the "to visit" list. Since you weren't really bragging they probably missed you when you posted that flow rate. I will fix that.
