I've just upgraded the comfort of my system!

Thanks to Pad-A-Cheek and Comfortsleeve Hose Cover (Offerocker).

No more strap marks on my face!!!! The fleece strap covers are well made, soft and have eliminated those embarrasing strap marks.

My 6ft. hose is now covered with a soft, fleece hose cover. It is well made and Offerocker customized it for me to also include the 12inches of hose that connects to my mask. She even connected the 2 separate pieces with hidden velcro. This will be my first Winter on APAP and I was concerned that the temperature swings might create Rain-out. Just like winterizing my car, I've prepared my APAP too! THe hose is now quieter too. I channel it above my head and sometimes it would rub against the headboard while I was changing positions.

THanks again to Pad-A-Cheek and Offerocker!
Barb

Agreed, Barb. They BOTH do good work and are willing to adapt for one's individual situation.

This is my first winter, too, as a CPAPper. I have found that much as I love polar fleece to wear, I love my CPAP gear to wear it too.

Additional information some may like to know: they both accommodate the color and print requests as much as possible!

My mask leaves marks, but by the time I'm out of the shower they are gone so I'm not too interested in the padacheeks. However, I have noticed as the temperature is dipping that there is more condensation in my hose and mask.

How does the Aussie Heated Hose work? And where could I get one?

The Aussie heated hose replaces your main air hose. It has a wire running up through it that keeps the inside of the hose just warm enough that the heated humidified air from your heated humidifier doesn't cool off while traveling on the long journey to you.

Heated humidified air that hits cold plastic (like the plastic of a regular air hose) can lose its moisture in the form of condensation ("rainout") along the inside walls of a cold plastic regular main air hose.

The Australian online store where most of us have purchased the heated hose is:

http://www.sleepzone.com.au

Sleepzone has free shipping of the hose to the U.S. Very nice people to deal with. Be sure to look for the price in U.S. dollars. The "Australian dollars" price will look a lot higher.

There's at least one online store in the U.S. that now carries the Sleepzone heated hose: cpapusa.com

THANKS, BARB!
It was interesting doing that two-piecer for you; now you can disconnect at will!

BGREGORY:

If you decide to invest in the "Aussie" hose, you may want to cover it to keep it clean. My sleeves also enable one to coordinate with a different color.
I've not looked into the Aussie, as not necessary for me, but have been told that it's not 'washable' - I may be in error on that point, but something to keep in mind.

Good luck!

You're right, and we wouldn't think of doing it either - you know that's called RESPECT.

I also have a ComfortSleeve, that matches my bedspread colors.

In addition to great insulation, I find that the hose doesn't 'catch' on everything anymore, and sure feels and looks a lot better, and stays clean.

I got two of them in different colors, so I can change the 'look' if I want.

I reccomend them! Great quality & workmanship.

I also bought Pad-a-Cheek's for my first mask, and they also are well-made.

Thank you, ladies! .

I have the aussie hose. It does come with a cover, but it is NOT washable. I use a light weight cover over it so I can take it off and wash it weekly.
