Laura (aka Rested Gal),
I too want to share my gratitude. Particuarly for your calm, thoughtful, considerate approach to contributing the vast understanding you have of what we all struggle with and what solutions may work for one person as opposed to another. You have consistently been level headed and open minded and I am amazed at the care and time you take to try and get it right for every one.

Sure, it's true we humans owe rested gal a debt of gratitude. But, let's not overlook the little-known fact she has made some fine contributions to the animal world as well! Who can forget her pioneering efforts to combine her love of dogs and home-based sleep studies? While this was initially published several months ago, now seemed like the perfect opportunity to give her ground-breaking work a second look.
She's had many willing participants for home-based sleep studies:

and some not so willing:

Some who slept right through it:

and some who were just too wired up:

Some who preferred distilled water for humidification:

and some who were not at all picky about the water's source:

Some who were back-sleepers:

Some with serious mask fitting issues:

and, lastly, some who simply refused CPAP therapy altogether
and went with a cheap DIY oral appliance:

But they all left well-rested and happy.

..write a book! I'll buy at least three copies; one for myself, one for my Dr, and one for a nice sleep therapist I know. I don't want to pressure you, but there are many that would benefit from your collected wisdom. Such a guide from a patients perspective is sorely needed by newbie's such as myself, as well as a few specialists that could do with a wake up call! Perhaps you could collaborate with a few others here on this.

What better day than Thanksgiving Day to say "thank you" RG for being so willing to help others by sharing what you've learned about CPAP. You have a way of making others feel welcome and comfortable about asking any and all questions.
You along with Rock and Roll, dsm, Sleepless on LI and WAFlowers made me feel very welcome after I finally decided to start posting.
Thanks so much!
Esther

Yes,thank you Rested Gal !
You are very knowlegeable about all aspects of CPAP treatment.
Your sugggestion on using old pantyhose to hold your mask on
and it working great as a chin strap has helped me a lot!
This idea has allowed me to sleep even better without my mask slipping,or leaking and has kept my mouth closed all night too(and even the store bought chin straps didn't accomplish this!
I believe you could easily form and lead a local CPAP information and support group in your home town.
You're the BEST,Rested Gal!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! May God Almighty grant you, Ms. Laura, and the rest of the contributors more knowledge power so that you (all) can be His good instrument to share it with us all CPAP users.
