If my memory is accurate, I have tried a two different cloth masks, swift fx, wisp, airfit p10, dreamwear, brevida? So that makes about 7 masks.

Because they didn't have any other suggestions, recently I went back to using the AirFit P10

I have a mask-fitting / trying out masks appointment at the end of this month . . .

I actually sent a message to Phillips Respronics letting them know that the dreamwear med headgear was too large & the small size too tight.. and asked them if they might consider a "for her" line of masks/headgear. I let them know that I needed a Small and a half size. They actually responded & said that they will take my suggestion to the design team at Phillips. So hopefully, Phillips will offer a "for her" or "women's" line of products for those of us that don't have small or medium heads and need an in between size. Of course, I am being a bit sexist. There are some men out there who may also have the same problem with frame sizing.

I am loving my ResMed F30 FF. The headgear is fabulous, 3 adjustment straps, and while it can take time to get the straps adjusted so that it doesn't leak, it's worth it. I just wish I wasn't still an elephant nose. It is my "keeper" until Phillips decides to offer a new line geared toward small 1/2 size heads or Resmed comes out with a great FF mask like their new nasal mask AND IF that happens, I will try it. Hopefully I can get the headgear to fit & I can be a "hose head" instead of a "hose nose" again.

I got a Fisher & Paykel Simplus mask when I did my sleep study and found it very comfortable so that's the only one I've ever used. I lucked out. :)

I got a Swift LT when I started because the DME didn't have the Swift FX my sleep doctor asked for. Liked the tubing coming off the top of the LT, but after a week or so, went back to the DME for the Swift FX which has been my go to mask since then. It was nice to find a mask that worked well for me the second time around, but haven't stopped looking for one that works better, mostly due to the stupid venting on the FX *smile*. Thought about adding a diffuser of my own making to the FX, but haven't gotten there yet.

I've tried just about every new nasal pillow mask since then, including the P10, Aloha, Nuance, Opus 360, Brevida, and going to try the Dreamwear one. Must have missed one or two of those *smile*. And a couple of nasal masks, as well, just to see how those worked, Wisp and DreamWeaver Elan (to try a cloth mask, liked it). Couple of full-face masks, AirFit F10 and AirTouch F20, looking for a backup mask. Even had a detour for over a year with the TAP PAP, because I needed a mask without headgear for a while, but have come back again to the Swift FX. I'd love to be able to use the P10 because of the lightweight and diffuse venting, but slips around at night too much for me, and I wake up with leaks.

At this point, my ideal mask would be an AirFit P10 with more stable headgear. If ResMed added more diffuse venting to the Swift FX, and I'd be pretty likely to stop looking *smile*. So it goes.

Roger...I married the P10 and the Swift FX just for you...it's doable and not difficult...but it does require just a little bit of work.

Glad you affirmed that. The other option would have been polygamy

I'm on mask #5 at about 6 months into APAP therapy and I believe it is the one for me (ResMed F30).

Thanks,

How would one do that? I would be interested in trying a similar combo of the P10 and Swift FX :)

Sorry, I still haven't got around to more detailed pictures but it's fairly easy to visualize I would think.

Thanks - I tried the link but it doesn't allow me to view the thread for some reason. I will try again on the link later this week- I have been finding that sometimes one day it says nothing exists and then if I try again later on, it might appear again . . .

It works for me...I just tried it.
Not sure why it isn't working for you.

Alternately do a search of my posts and put "married" in the search box and it comes up very close to the top of the hits.

My mask experience:
  1. Resmed n20 nasal: first mask, worked fairly well for me.
  2. ResMed f20 fullface: tried when I started having nasal breathing problems. Couldn't use.
  3. ResMed p10 nasal pillows: Love it, now my go to mask.
  4. ResMed n30i nasal cradle: Got it tried it, didn't like as much. Will likely try again. Only available in Canada and a few other test markets. Not available in USA yet.
