Palerider, how long have you disconnected at that swivel?

I found daily disconnecting at the hose lasted close to a year before the hose needed replacing due to a stretched connector.

Well, other masks usually have an *elbow*...

There's actually *two* swivels there,

There's a free spinning spot at both ends of the funnel shaped bit... the funnel turns in the larger barrel, and the smaller connector spins on the small end of the swivel, the double rotating ability is probably (my guess) why the short hose pretty much never gets tangled up, for me anyway.

I am not sure separating it regularly as shown would not weaken the connection. I am not about to be the one to test that theory though.

The only time I disconnect mine is if the hose gets caught and I tug on it at the wrong time. I'm guessing it's more of a safety disconnect, not something to avoid having to remove the mask, it's easier for me to remove and replace the whole mask, rather than fiddle with the hose.

There are enough tactile features on the mask that you can put it on properly in the dark.

I tried that fitting that PR pointed out, and found it to take quite a bit of pressure to pop it loose. I don't think I will be using that as a quick connect. I guess I'll just take the mask off, and get used to another way of doing things. BTW,...thanks Pugsy for the offer of that connector, but I'm pretty sure it won't do what I'm looking for either.

My Brevida has a plastic piece that inserts into the rubber hose end, and stays there all the time. The end of the mask short hose just snaps/unsnaps right to that piece very quickly and easily. Wish the P10 did the same,.....but you can't have everything.

I'm going to finally sleep in the P10 full-time tonight, and try to use the large pillows since they do put out a significant amount more air than the medium it seems. Just hope that they don't make my nares sore, but I figure I'll survive regardless.

I am curious to see what the old SH chart will show with the change, and also anxious to see if I can spend half the night on my sides instead of flat on my back without major leakage issues.

I saw my Cardiologist for a regular office visit Tuesday evening, and he wants to do a two night oximetry test on me. The first night is to be with the use of my Cpap, and the next without. I guess he wants to be sure I'm not getting any desats at night even with the Cpap, but I didn't quite get why the night without it? It doesn't really bother me to sleep a night or two without the machine, and I'm actually kind of curious what the readings will be both ways. I'm sure I won't get the call for the test until after the first of the year, which is OK with me.

He also thinks it's fine that I'm doing this without the jerk of a 'sleep doctor' I had, and dealing with Crapria as well. He IS aware of the SH program, and is glad I'm using it to keep an eye on things.

Well, I used it last night just shy of six hours. My nose is a little sore today, and I also had quite a few more centrals than normal for me. Granted, almost half don't appear real, and it's nothing to be concerned over,....just surprised that changing a mask could impact such a thing. It was probably just a weird night, although I had zero obstructive events which has also become normal for me.

I am hoping that after the headgear stretches out a little it will be more comfortable, and I plan on switching back to the medium pillows due to a much more active leak line than usual for me.

I think this mask is going to work for me for the purpose I purchased it for, and I may grow to like it a lot more after it gets broken in.

I have a feeling the medium cushion will be an improvement. The P10 works best for me when I wipe down my nose with a wipe before putting on the mask. That removes all oils and buggers. Makes the mask seem to "stick" in place and not move around as much. Putting some lanolin or stuff like that on helps getting used to it, but for me makes it move around too easily. Yes, the headgear stretch out. You mentioned breathing better through the large pillow. While it is bigger, and that for sure would move more air, I find that if I have the P10 any too tight at all it restricts airflow. So maybe work on adjusting the straps wider or stretch them out a bit. The P10 doesn't seem to need a lot of pressure to seal well.

Well, just to finish off this thread fairly, I now have an opinion after actually using the P10 for a good solid week.

I tried going to the medium cushion which fit most like it's supposed to I think. The only problem was that after a bit of time passed, the thing went too far up into my nares. I think it's due to the still snug headgear, but regardless it results in some small leaks and a bunch of weird noises.

Went back to the large pillow, which basically sits with the 'cone' a tiny bit more than halfway in my nares. It seems to stay there, and after several nights, the slight soreness I was getting has disappeared. I get virtually zero leakage, and the mask is very quiet as well. The airflow on the large is also pretty much like my M/L Brevida, as in,.....there's plenty of it.

I'm probably going back to my Brevida tonight, but I will switch them off on a regular basis, and definitely go to the P10 when I need to sleep on my side more. I consider them both to have about the same level of comfort, and the head straps are minimalistic on both as well. The exhaust is also not a problem on either one, but I think the Brevida with the filter clipped on is a tiny bit quieter,.....maybe. So little as to not matter actually.

Overall I like the P10 a lot, and it will not be going back needless to say. I might actually get another one while they are on sale again!

The crawling up into the nostril thing I had that happen when I tried the XSmall pillow. Always in every other nasal pillow mask that has been the size I used.
With the p10 I guess it was just a tiny bit smaller.
While it didn’t happen every night it did happen frequently enough that I just moved up to the small permanently.
For me when it crawled up in my nose it sort of blocked the air flow and I would wake up feeling a bit suffocated.

I use a lanolin on my nostrils to help. I love the p10 pillows.
