first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
last night was pretty bad. i fell asleep without the mask on and woke up to a racing heart and looking for breath.
i put the mask on for the rest of the night but i just kept waking up. after i put the mask on
i think i had one more time where i woke up with my heart beating a bit faster but wasnt as severe as the first time.
i have a graph from last night but it probably wont do any good since i awoke like 20 times

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
hey last night i had the pressure at 7.5-14
i didnt wake up as much as i have been
and my machine seems to have responded to events
because i was able to get longer periods of sleep i guess
any thoughts?

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
Pugsy can speak with more authority, but anecdotally I did get more AHI when i raised my pressure, and the graphs would show less wake ups. so I do believe that's something that can happen, get into a deeper sleep and get more events. Eventually I reached the proper minimum, but for me it actually took a while to get used to that amount of pressure. And even though my sleep study showed 70% oxygen saturation and 53 AHI, with the machine even at low pressures I rarely would get higher than a 2.

Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
well it makes sense because when we go into rem sleep out bodies relax more, closing the airway more. im confused as to why i dont seem to get into deep sleep in the first place. at least in the later part of the nightnicholasjh1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 2:29 pmPugsy can speak with more authority, but anecdotally I did get more AHI when i raised my pressure, and the graphs would show less wake ups. so I do believe that's something that can happen, get into a deeper sleep and get more events. Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
update on how i feel:
right now my pressure is at 7.5-14
today i woke up feeling ok
i still felt like i needed to stay in bed but not quite so bad
my mind feels slightly more active
i dont feel like i need to sit down all the time
i didnt consciously wake up as much as i have been last night
it seemed that i was better able to sleep through the second half of the night
when i looked at sleepyhead, the machine seems to not have picked up on
a 8-9 events that i am thinking were for sure hypopneas/obstructives
where my breaths on the graph didnt indicate i was awake before the absence of airflow
it did pick up a few though
im writing this around midday and i am feeling a bit tired
after having gone for a walk
here is a zoom in on one of the events the machine didnt flag

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
ive had a machine for about 3 weeks now. during that time, ive had three nights or so where i didnt wake up to pee as much and felt as though i slept pretty well throughout the night. the next day of those nights my mind feels more active and i dont feel sleepy, and the veins in my hands are big upon awakening, which tells me my circulation was there during the night. my veins are usually small in my hands upon awakening. however, i havent had one of those days for a week or so now. im waking up to urinate a lot during the night, my mind doesnt feel there during the day. i dont feel as fatigued as when i first started cpap but i attribute this to me raising my protein levels as well at the same time. i can tell the difference between when i eat too low of protein and when i dont upon awakening. anyway, despite raising my pressure to 16 on my machine, im waking up with my heart fluttering. i notice this happens more when im dreaming, because its pulling me out of my dreams and i can recall them. i havent had the pleasure of viewing my sleepyhead data because the labtop that had a sd card input i was using isnt here anymore. i ordered an adapter for this computer but im waiting on it to arrive. my machine shows a lower average AHI pretty much every day i use it. last i checked it was down to 0.7. it feels like im waking up around 10 times a night that im conscious of. would me raising the pressure have anything to do with it? anyones thoughts on this are appreciated because i felt more alive those three days than i have in a while

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
last nights graph
i decided to go back to the beginning to see if there
was any need for a machine to begin with
like i should of done more so than raising pressure at all
once again, very low ahi
the machine seemed to respond to stuff
but i dont know if it is real or not
i do remember waking up last night
but all together i didnt sleep too bad
id really like to get some insight on whether anything about this graph
looks like i may have a problem with breathing in my sleep
i can take zoom in shots of whatever is needed

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
can you repost your graph fully zoomed out as the flows are zoomed in too far for us to see anything but it looks like more max pressure needed

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
For some reason your machine appears to be at set fixed 8.5 settings...per the graph.
By any chance do you have Opti Start enabled?
Can you go into the clinical menu setup area on your machine and confirm what all the settings really are.
SleepyHead seems a bit confused. One area reporting the tight range of 7 to 8.5 and another reporting min and max of 7 and the graph showing fixed at 8.5.

Re: first night with cpap, please help interprety graphs
im thinking its probably just because i initially started out at 7 then when i woke up out of breath i upped it to 8.5. 8.5-9 i seem to not really wake up out of breath so i usually have it there but i get aerophagia so i was seeing how low i could go. initially i didnt even have the machine on because i havent woken up out of breath the last few days without the machine. it only happens on certain nightsPugsy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 12:00 pmFor some reason your machine appears to be at set fixed 8.5 settings...per the graph.
