Changing the voltage is not as big a deal as converting between AC & DC.prodigyplace wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 5:08 pm. . . When you use this machine at home, the "brick" on the power cord converts household electricity (which is AC) to DC. This is what the machine runs on. It makes no sense to convert it and then convert it back!
I suggest you use the product on the link below.

The DC converter actually converts from 12 volts DC to 24 volts DC though. There is still some conversion, but very efficient.
AirSense 10 units won't run on an inverter? Screwed again?

Here's the true answer, "the S9 and Air10 use the same style (switching) power supply... they don't care whether they're run in a pure sinewave inverter, or a modified sinewave inverter". However, you *shouldn't* use an inverter, because it'll suck your batteries flat twice as fast.chartle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:13 pmI guess my question was really if there was some issue that you never want to run an Airsence 10 on an inverter.
The person with the issue had only one option at the time and it was to use an inverter they already had for their fridge. They didn't plan on boondocking for one of the nights on the road and wanted to use it.

Wrong!
When starting with DC it is trivial to get a lower voltage but to start with 12 volts DC and end up with 24 volts DC you basically need a switching power supply that basically converts it to AC first.
A word of advice to D.H.

boost and buck converters are both 'switching' power supplies. And boost converters DO NOT convert anything to AC... Pulsed DC is NOT AC.
Changing voltage from 12v to 24v dc is much more efficient than using an inverter to boost it to 120Vac and then another conversion back down to 24v DC.

Re: AirSense 10 units won't run on an inverter? Screwed again?
My lesson with D/C 12 Volt to 24 Volt power, We used Haulage trucks 150 ton belly dumps. They had 12 volt systems, but used 24 volt Allison 6 Speed Auto transmitions.
We had one in the shop that would refuse to move at times. The day shift (the experts) worked 2 shifts, 2 men repairing it. changed the wireing., testing ect.
I worked nights, grunt lube-oil-filter, no brain required work. Finished my shift, on the way to garage, call came in, truck blocking the pit won't move. So they made me, check it out, no electric tools no real tools at all.
I got in it, they were correct it wouldn't move wouldn't go in gear, checked fuses, recycled the computer, no joy....
The boss pulled up in front of the truck, (a No NO) climb up to me, ask a bunch of stupid questions about how I was going to make it move. Loaded It was almost 300 ton, I hold him I can't push it. He Ranted on.
Just one more thing to try, I took a big hammer and hit the tower the shifter was mounted, the engine was revied up.
When I hit it the truck went into first gear, and jump forward 5 feet, almost hitting his truck, got it stopped 2 feet from his grill.. Problem solved, inside the tower was among other things a 12 V to 24V up converter, the points were sticking at times.
So I got on the radio, and told the shop boss to have his experts change it. Never ran into that problem before, at our mine we changed the transmissions over to 12 volt before we installed them, so that part was unhooked. Total repair cost labor, parts, and one Hammer hit over $ 3,000 and 2 days of haulage use. Jim
You can fix anything, if you know where to hit it!

Hi.
I have a Die Hard Platinum 1150 portable power unit used for camping.
I have heard that my airsense will produce more running hours with a airsense inverter (DC).
Is this true?
Thank you.

The Airsense 12 volt converter is more efficient than using the 12v power pack on an inverter.
That has already been answered in this thread.

It's not an inverter. If you use the wrong words when you're looking for things, you won't find them.lowonbucks wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 5:42 amI have heard that my airsense will produce more running hours with a airsense inverter (DC).
