Only REAL men (and women) can use the 'For Her' model.

You can replace the faceplate and get rid of the flowers.

It will get rid of the flowers, but not the "for her" tag...

Yeah but that is so small it is easily covered with a piece of tape or sticker if it really bugs someone but most people won't even look that closely.

I have to be right close to it to even read it. I mean down at eye level about a foot from it.

$20 for a face plate change is better than $150 for a different machine if the color bugs someone. Plus a person gets 3 machines in one instead of 2 machines in one.

Hey I get your concern. Who needs coworkers giving you grief.

What Province do you live in?

Canadian online supplier has package for $899 includes climateline hose and a choice of mask (4 types):

wwwcpapmachine.ca

They will give you a predetermination for your insurance company if you email them. Not sure about your provincial contribution though.

WTF?
Who gives a RAT'S ASS what coworkers THINK about the therapy equipment that's going to SAVE YOUR LIFE???

But, if you're that big of a wimp, make up a label that says "BINFORD TOOLS" "TURBO-CHARGED MODEL"

ARGH! ARGH! ARGH!

He's not a wimp. He's young and nervous about this new weird thing that sets him apart from his peers. I don't know how attacking him will do anything except drive him away from this board, which we've seen in the past.

THAT was not an "attack"! Maybe you missed my first post on page one of this thread. I was trying to reassure him that he was actually given the top-of-the-line machine for his therapy.

Many of the other posters were also giving him advice about covering up parts of the machine with other things like duct tape, too.

Try to put this into perspective. It's equipment that helps you breathe while you sleep. Pretty benign. Many people have more serious physical and medical issues to deal with. And, if Sleep Apnea isn't treated, it can lead to more serious physical and medical issues.
Would his "peers" make fun of him if he used a cane, crutches, walker, or wheelchair? I doubt it.
If his "peers" can't deal with this therapy or its equipment, maybe they're the wrong crowd to be hanging out with. Or, maybe they need to be educated more about Sleep Apnea and its long-term ramifications if not treated.

Another option would be to purchase an additional ("macho") machine (lots of inexpensive ones available) to use as a travel machine. Most of us have additional/spare machines for emergencies anyway.

Edit again for.......one final thought.
If, as we've been told for the last 50 - 150 years that women are superior to men ( "I am woman, hear me roar" ), what's the big deal why we (men) couldn't use a machine built with a setting for women?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... r-sex.html

Somewhere along the way, this whole gender thing got twisted all out of proportion.

Hello,
I am thinking of getting this machine. Could anyone explain to me what is meant by its being 3 machines in one
Thank you
Amany

It's a/an:

CPAP
APAP
APAP with an additional algorithm/setting that someone thought should apply more toward women for some reason due to the way it responds to certain breathing characteristics.

From my post on page 1

From the manual:

AutoSet for Her mode

"AutoSet for Her mode is based on key aspects of ResMed’s AutoSet algorithm and delivers therapeutic responses tailored to the characteristics of female OSA patients.
The AutoSet for Her is similar to ResMed’s AutoSet algorithm with the following modifications:

Reduced rate of pressure increments designed to help prevent arousals.
Slower pressure decays.
Treats apneas up to 12 cm H 2 O and continues to respond to flow limitation and snore up to 20 cm H 2 O.
Minimum pressure (Min. Pressure) that adjusts according to the frequency of apneas:
If two apneas occur within a minute, the pressure reached in response to the second apnea will become the new minimum treatment pressure until the next treatment session.

Patients who use AutoSet for Her will still get the benefits of ResMed's AutoSet technology including improved sensitivity to flow-limitation and Central Sleep Apnoea Detection with Forced Oscillation Technique."

Welcome to the forum.

Wulfman already explained the 3 in one thing but if you haven't seen the manual for this machine you might read this.
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf
It is a combo manual (has more than one model information) but I think you will see what we mean about modes of operation.
Plus it has a lot of useful informative information about the machine.

Thank you,
I am recently diagnosed too. I was prescribed a cpap and i got one from here in Egypt. It is called Lowenstien, a German made. It does not offer me any data. Its software is with the selling company and they took the SD to get me the first report after 2 weeks of usage. It s price is almost the same of the Resmed at USA.
I joined this forum to learn from you all as I like to be in control of my health
As I can see the Resmed for her is the best. I .
