How do I access Daily Events in Encore Pro?

Post by neurodoc » Thu Oct 05, 2006 9:16 am

I recently began using Encore Pro with my new Remstar M Series Auto CPAP. I can download fine from my Smart Card, and can view the compliance data (hours of usage, average pressures delivered), but cannot find how to view the Daily Details, such as AHI, apnea, hypopnea, snoring, flow-limiting events, etc. Is this data not available in Encore Pro? The Help Index feature lists Daily Details for Encore Pro 1.4 (though it doesn't say how to access them). I have Encore Pro 1.6.22.

Can anyone tell me how to view the Daily Details in Encore Pro 1.6.22?

On the window that opens up after you click on the downloaded date line, select the "radio button" that sais "Full details". It defaults to "Summary".....which is what you're seeing.

right click on the data (the line with the date of the compliance download); select reports; then detailed

before downloading data,

you should open up the EncorePro program (make sure you have a Green arrow on the MSSQL Service Manager/Agent on the task bar, when you hover over it it should say Running, if not double click on the red dot and select "Start").

First thing to do is create a Patient Profile for yourself. Once that is created, double click on that profile and you should have a empty Interaction list, click on the Download Data menu on the left, then SmartCard Reader, this will download data and store it in the database. The data will show up in the Interactions list, double click on that interaction, select "Detailed" report, then when it is displayed hit page down and you should see the Daily Auto reports appear after the 3rd page.

Some people report their daily data is missing, if that happens, use the EncorePro software to erase the card and set it up again (you will lose your exising sleep data but next time it should have the missing daily data).

That topic contains step-by-step instructions on how to get to the detailed data in Encore Pro.

Thank you all very much for your help. I have been able to access my detailed data. When I look at it, I see that my average AHI is 4.1 (ranging up to 12 - 18 during various times most nights); my average hypopnea index is 2.5; obstructive apnea index 1.6; flow limitation index 1.8; vibratory snore 13.7; average leak 34.7 liters. 90% of time is spent at or below 12 cm H2O.

Can anyone take a stab at helping me evaluate how bad these results are and what should be done? I use an Ultra-Mirage full face mask due to chronic nasal congestion (years).

An AHI below 5.0 is considered "normal", however it's typical to be able to achieve less than that.
Could you please let us know how your machine is configured? (Pressures/range, etc..)
It's conceivable that if your starting pressure is too low that you may be having apneas and hypopneas before the machine can reach an adequate pressure to stop them.

Your leak rate looks good, though.

Best wishes,

Den

Neurodoc,

Are you irrigating your nose? I do so when I get up in the morning and before retiring at night.

Flonase is also helpful. Best to use it just before you go to sleep.

Sorry to be slow to reply -- I was out of town until tonight after posting my question on Oct 6.

Yoga: I haven't tried irrigating my nose. My cardiologist tells me that the chronic nasal congestion is due to my blood pressure medicines -- angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors).

Wulfman: The machine was set with a pressure range of 4-20 cm H2O, and the C-flex setting at 2.

I'm not a doctor or anything in the healthcare field. This is just what I'd try, if it were me and if I had an M series Auto:

APAP mode
Pressure range set for minimum pressure 7, maximum pressure 16.
C-Flex set however felt most comfortable: 1, 2, or 3
No ramp, unless I absolutely needed it.

I'd see how that went for a few nights.

Leak Management

Post by curtcurt46 » Mon Oct 16, 2006 10:40 am

One other thing to consider:
There are two places you need to review to manage any leaks you may develop. The first place you have found the "Sleep Therapy Daily Details" for each nights events. Also you need to look at page 2 or 3 of 12, there is a long term graph that shows leak info. This is where you can see your max leak. Using both graph you can eliminate all leaks beyond normal mask venting.
Good luck!!
