Hi All!! Well-Rested Gal is getting a new CPAP mask to add to her collection but before I mailed it to her, I wanted to post a couple pics so ya'll could see how little a CPAP mask is for a premature baby--this mask would fit a 1 to 3 pound baby and their initial CPAP setting would be 5 or 6 I have used a nickel as a reference for how small this mask is. Is that not precious? How tiny!!
I shall make a necklace pendant out of it. Good way to start a conversation about OSA... "What IS that?!!" LOL!!!
A lucky charm. Wards off heart attacks and strokes.

			Where did you get that?
What's amazing to me is the pressure you mentioned.....sounds a little high for such a (very) little one.

Well, that may be the FIRST mask that RG won't be able to modify!!!
Was it held on by a pink/blue ribbon?
I'm jealous!!
Does anyone know a good goldsmith that would make a wax mold from another tiny mask? Shouldn't take much gold or silver to make a long-lasting charm.
Besides, RG may not get another one every 6 months either!!
I think it is ABOUT TIME that WE have OUR OWN SYMBOL OR CHARM!!
What do you say, folks?

			Offerocker,
I LIKE IT
As Rested Gal says, it could be a real conversation opener. I would be proud to wear one

Thanks, Karen,
I too would be proud to wear one --why not, we wear one the remainder of the 'day', eh?
I think it would be EXCELLENT for public awareness also!
"We" wear crosses, crucifixes, charms, et al, and this 'charm' would be a reminder of our renewed life, or, "life renewed".

Karen and Offerocker--If anybody knows of a way or a goldsmith who can make this into a charm--I can get another one...I think that would be an awesome idea!!
Den--I got the mask from work--I am a neonatal intensive care nurse, and when our babies come off their ventilators--they are usually put on CPAP at pressures of 5 to 6 to maintain their tiny little alveoli--5 - 6 is fairly low for them--any lower-and they wouldn't be able to breathe--just like us big people on a cpap of 4. Alot of times we will try CPAP first before intubating and putting them on a ventilator--many times it saves them from having to go on the ventilator.
anyway--if anyone knows of a way we can make this into a chrm--let me know-and I will get another...
Cindy

Titrator and RestedGal, my apologies, but I simply cannot resist:
"And hook one on your
nose and complain that
'IT JUST DOESN'T FIT!!'"
...The made me do it !
Well, that's the laugh for today anyway. (you can TAPE it!) ...no nose ring required, ha ha.

You all are too funny--I never thought of earrings--they would be quite unique-wouldn't they...
If any of the rest of you want a pair of the earrings--I will sell them--just realize, I am charging a 40% price increase if you want to buy them over the internet--LOL!!! Just joking--I can't sell them--but couldn't resist saying that the made me do it!!

			OHHH, NOOO!
I was having trouble getting onlline, and couldn't swing it for what seemed like a long time. And look what Offerocker got into while I wasn't watching!! I'm surprised that you didn't think of a duct-tape chain.
And, I truly love the Titrator's earring suggestion!
RE: Hosehead Jewelry
Yes, I'd go for it, but I prefer white gold or sterling silver--but I'd go for something else if that were to be the only choice.
Thanks, all of you. I have just been wrangling cords and manuals and etc., so I really needed this (semi-serious) laugh.
Now, behave yourself, Offerocker!
BTW, how many of us "Karen" hoseheads are there on this forum? We may have to have a group of our own, since I'm sure we all think that OUR first name is the best one!
And, all of you non-Karens probably think YOURS is the best.
