condensation

Post by rjgreen3 » Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:55 pm

I have been getting a little condensation recently. My humidifier is set at (1) and I haven't been having this problem before. The only change has been changing from The Comfort Gel Mask to The Profile Lite. I need some help here!

rgreen3: Is the condensation only in the mast, or also in the hose?
If it is a 'hose problem, there are several hose coversi available. I make one, and I believe cpap.com has another. First determine the source - but remember, Winter is coming, and you may be cranking up the heated humidifier.

Hi rjgreen3,

For some people the fleece hose cover works well. Unfortunatly I didn't work for me. I had to go with the aussie heated hose. You can find them at http://www.sleepzone.com It will likely run you about $100 but it is well worth it. I no longer have problems with condensation (aka rainout) and my nose is no longer cold!

Hope that works for you,
Teri

hi rjgreen,

I use the heated hose Teri mentioned. Love it. Some people find that using just a hose cover takes care of the problem. If not, the heated hose is a great answer to preventing condensation.

Here are some interesting discussion topics about it:

The Aussie hose works excellent but having the hose cover is great because you can take it off and wash it as needed. The Aussie hose I have has a lightweight sweatshirt material permanently attached (at least it looks that way) and washing it is impossible as you are not suppose to submerge the hose when cleaning. I just received my hose cover from Karen (Offerocker) and love it, it's so soft.

Somedays I am not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer...Sorry I should have added the .au to the website.
Here is the actual website http://www.sleepzone.com.au/

Best,
Teri
