Re: Should Trump Drop Out
It seems every Republican has a story like that. How could I have lived over eight decades and never had a story like this to tell??!!??flightco wrote:
We had stopped to buy groceries and as always were price sensitive shoppers, buying store brands and things on sale. I noticed the couple in front of us had top of the line everything, no store brands in their cart. I just about pooed myself when they paid with food stamps, if that wasn't bad enough, when we went outside they were putting the groceries into a very new convertible luxury sedan
Blinders, maybe?

Re: Should Trump Drop Out
Listen Granny, I am not going to get into another war of words with you because, quite frankly, you kick my butt. Regardless, your being better at articulating your point does not make mine wrong; it is not a made up story and I have no idea why you have never seen anything like that, maybe it is the part of town you live in. I would be happy to send you some YouTube links if you are interested but I doubt you are.ChicagoGranny wrote:It seems every Republican has a story like that. Your anecdotal experience proves what?

My experience proves nothing other than what I saw and I was only using it as an example that not all welfare goes to those in need.49er wrote:Flightco, flightco wrote:

Top of the line meaning, not one store brand in their cart that I noticed and m cart full of store brands and sale items. Then putting the goods into a luxury vehicle that I could not begin to afford. I might have just been jealous that I drove a much cheaper vehicle and had to buy my own groceries. You could be right, they might have been borrowing the vehicle, I didn't check the registration.
So, 49er, you are saying this doesn't happen, no welfare abuse, no gaming the system?

I don't think anyone would argue there aren't abuses. But many people (not saying you are doing this) use anecdotal evidence to claim that the system is a waste of taxpayer's money and should be dismantled. Or they use anecdotal evidence to stereotype people getting food stamps when actually, many people who might qualify don't apply out of shame.
And just because someone doesn't but store brands doesn't mean they are deliberately abusing the system. For example, I have been buying some brands that that I finally realized have cheaper equivalents on Amazon's site. So people might not understand how to find the best bargain.
Don't know how the current setup is but I would hope people on food stamps could get access to classes teaching them how to maximize their dollars in the healthiest way.
Yeah, they could have been borrowing the vehicle.
49er

I was indeed, I have had so many here tell me what I was trying to say, spun to fit their agenda, I thought I would try it.

I cannot retype every post I made about this but I was clear that I think that people who need help should get help, otherwise we are no better than Canada (OK, that has nothing to do with this, just having fun with Julie) I will not be made to feel guilty for my anecdotal evidence, I was there and it happened. Lying for the sake of an internet argument is not really my style. Like HRC, I cannot say I have never lied but I try to save it for saving my job like when I get caught typing on CPAPTalk when I should be working - just research boss. There are currently 46.5 million people on food stamps so I wonder how many more are not applying out of shame? Speaks well for the current economy.

That was a pretty old story and I think Amazon only sold books then. When I was watching them check out I remember thinking it would be nice to not have to worry about what stuff costs, having no idea they would be using food stamps (long enough ago that they were really paper)

Re: Should Trump Drop Out
I can tell you why Julie is so interested in US politics and is desperate to have a socialist in the White House. I have a lot of Canadian friends here in Panama. Canadians are scared to death that the Americans will not bail out their financial system in the next world financial crisis, as they did in the last crisis. Canada's housing bubble is already collapsing, their currency is in freefall, and it won't be long before their banks fail. The same goes for Europe, Deutsche Bank and Commerzebank in Germany and most of the big Italian banks are collapsing as we speak. In 2008 and 2009, the corrupt US Federal Reserve created $13 trillion in digital money and bailed out the big, international, insolvent banks in order to keep the credit ponzi scheme going a little longer. The financial crisis of 2008 was originally a result mostly of what the Europeans were doing, not the US. The US mortgage market was just the first casualty of this "international reserve system that is totally credit based, denominated in US dollars". Most of us have heard this system called "shadow banking" or "Eurodollar standard". It is a giant ponzi scheme. The fallout will be a huge 1930's style worldwide depression. This huge stealth bailout cost American savers and retirees most of their interest income and is the primary reason why all public and private pension funds the US are in terrible shape, on the brink of collapse. I don't think the corrupt US Feds will get away with this again.
How can you tell when the action is really getting started? When the US dollar soars against all other currencies. The fed and all other central banks are fighting to keep this from happening. Right now, there is a massive shortage of US dollars all across the world. This is because of the ongoing collapse of the international reserve currency (credit) ponzi scheme.
The US needs to become isolationist and save itself.
Oh and it make absolutely NO difference who wins the White House. No one can fix the mess we are in.
Europe and Canada will end up like Brazil and Venezuela.

Yes, Trump, drop out. Your really don't want this. You are hurting our country. Let someone who know what they are doing lead. You are NOT that person and I am quite sick of hearing from you. Go back in your hole.
