If your water level isn't going down, it means (unless something's very wrong with the machine) that your local humidity is high and therefore you don't need added humidity... the machine can tell. But do learn to spell for crying out loud!

Aw, gasper. And Julie, too.
Come on, be nice.
Lots of us are writing on our tablets, and a few of us have BPT.
I hate the tremor. It's like a potholey road in my living room.

Sorry, but that's not caused by a tremor - and is spelled correctly in the note itself.
Re: Water not evaporatorizing
I was questioning if it was something new that I didn't know about yet.

Re: Water not evaporatorizing
that depends on what kind of machine the OP has, which the OP neglected to tell us.Julie wrote:If your water level isn't going down, it means (unless something's very wrong with the machine) that your local humidity is high and therefore you don't need added humidity... the machine can tell.

First, please stop with the criticism of poor spelling or grammar. Some posters speak English as a second or third language!
If the water level is unchanged (or almost unchanged) from bed time to wake time, the humidifier is not functioning.
What I noticed with my old AEIOmed Everest 3 machine was that the humidifier consistently did not work above 8000 ft. Are you at a very high altitude?

Judging from some of your posts, you must have failed every science course you ever took, beginning with sixth grade science.D.H. wrote:What I noticed with my old AEIOmed Everest 3 machine was that the humidifier consistently did not work above 8000 ft. Are you at a very high altitude?
Ceteris paribus, water evaporates faster the higher the altitude.

Wrong Again...Dummy. (Is it OK to call you by for first name?) The humidifier checks the humidity of the room and if the moisture level is adequate, no additional moisture is needed. The humidifier may be working properly.

Re: Water not evaporatorizing
While this is probably true if the OP is using a newer machine that has the humidity sensors in the machine it isn't always true. The humidifier checks the humidity of the room and if the moisture level is adequate, no additional moisture is needed. The humidifier may be working properly.
As PR said
Plus we don't know the setting or mode....something like Classic mode which takes the humidity sensor out of the equation (assuming OP has that type of machine) or other factors like maybe the ambient humidity.palerider wrote:that depends on what kind of machine the OP has, which the OP neglected to tell us.
Until we have more detailed information about all we can do is guess.
The humidifier may or may not be working properly and we need more information to be able to offer accurate input.
We need to know what machine is being used...what humidity mode is being used along with the setting. Plus we need to know the ambient humidity....has it been raining a lot and the windows open??
Is a heated hose being used?

Working properly perhaps, but it is not functioning in the sense that it is not putting out any humidity.LSAT wrote:D.H. wrote:First, please stop with the criticism of poor spelling or grammar. Some posters speak English as a second or third language!

Re: Water not evaporatorizing
What the laws of physics says it one thing; how a medical humidifier unit works is another. The problem is that above 8,000 ft., the heating element did not work, so very little evaporation occurred. By the way, the preheat still worked.Midnight Strangler wrote:Judging from some of your posts, you must have failed every science course you ever took, beginning with sixth grade science.D.H. wrote:What I noticed with my old AEIOmed Everest 3 machine was that the humidifier consistently did not work above 8000 ft. Ceteris paribus, water evaporates faster the higher the altitude.
The most recent time was in Quito, Ecuador (elevation approximately 9,350 feet).

functioning as designed, dummy. depending on the specific model, which we don't know... so do shut up.D.H. wrote:Working properly perhaps, but it is not functioning in the sense that it is not putting out any humidity.LSAT wrote:D.H. wrote:First, please stop with the criticism of poor spelling or grammar.
