Cervical collars: recommend foam with holes punched in?

Here's the ventilated foam I was talking about in my former Mt Biking crash pads. Looks perfect for a cervical collar, at least to me. I know people in the bike industry so I can possible source out the foam material... it's only about 3/16 inch thick, so may have to be laminated. FYI. I'm over one decade retired (and very comfortably situated) so not interested in starting a business However, thanks for all the recommendations along those lines, yes, AVI too:

I found an old crash pad my husband used at one time. Took it apart to see for myself. I see great potential as well... just gotta have lots of patience, and the need. Looking forward to see what you do tho.

Those would not work for me. You need something to cross under the jaw and stop it from dropping. The gap in the front will not work. They are also not wide enough.

I just wonder if the foam is the same as Sir NodinOff thinks would work?
Since they carry cervical collars as well ... they may like the suggestion?

Not made of the foam with holes like the first link, but designed to cut down on heat retention and less rigid than the hard plastic?

I'd still prefer the lavender scented foam they used for the neck pillows which seems more like what Sir Nodinoff is attempting.

I hope you don't confuse people with pictures of those collars. Those are not what we are talking about and will not be effective. Someone could try one and find it is totally ineffective. That would be a real shame because many of us have found REAL cervical collars to be a key part of improving our health with CPAP therapy.

I was simply looking for who might produce such foam? Since I found the cervical collar to be too hot here in Florida and I thought this was a good idea and it interested me.

I can't imagine anyone would become confused by a picture of a neck pillow particularly if they read the accompanying words to my post?

...or what damage using a neck pillow might do should someone buy one?

Along that line of thinking, I doubt much damage would be done if folks started sleeping with mountain bike pads?

I have learned from many people on this site about CPAP and other topics.
I have only scratched the surface of what I need to understand about CPAP and Sleepyhead and that is why I check in here almost daily when I am able.

AVI did teach me something.

If I didn't practice right away with the new information I would have likely forgotten.

I understand that the idea was to find or make a cervical collar from a lighter weight, cooler foam "with holes punched in it".

If someone could not locate used mountain bike pads to create a collar then I was hoping to find the 'holy' foam used in another application.

Foam with holes is probably used for all sorts of things?
...and no doubt is available to buy just as blank material.

I saw some after-market foam mattress toppers made of that square hole pattern several years ago. As I recall that was 'moderate firm' foam, more like the foam you get in chair or sofa (sorta soft, actually). Foam is a generic term, just like plastic is a shotgun term. A plethora of different types in each category.
