Cool Moist Air Need Info

Post by Seeing you » Thu Apr 14, 2016 7:26 am

Res Med Air Med 10 with FFM . Now seems I have tried it all with no success so is there any sure way to get cool moist air can not stand any warm air blowing in my face. Tried what I think is all the setting with pass over air. Also should I be getting cool air during ramp time seems it is much warmer even with heated tube off while on ramp and still not real cool once off. Got to be a better machine or a better way if we can put a man in orbit around the earth for a year seems they could make a machine that could give us what we need in order to sleep well. Getting to the point I get about an hour a night about ready to throw this machine out.

Do you understand the air flowing through the mask can be no lower in temperature than the ambient room air?

what machine do you have? Please fill in the equipment profile so we can help you better. What settings do you have the heated hose set on? What settings do you have the humidity set on?
Try to lower the temp in your bedroom.

get a dorm fridge, put the machine inside, and close the door (gently) on the hose.

You might try one of these.

If necessary, you could put cold water in it at bedtime.

I can not stand the hot air and for seven years I discovered the solution, the humidifier filled it with water and put in the freezer in the morning with a plastic bag isolating odors of food.

By going to sleep I put the tank in the humidifier unheated and ice remains about six hours.

The feeling is breathing mountain air, nostrils not dry because cold water provides a slight moisture that resembles the mountain.

I'm doing a study with measurements of pressure, flow, humidity, temperature ice without him, humidifier on, etc.

Sounds like a good way to crack the humidifier on the first try.

The plastic tank freezes, not the humidifier, seven years doing it every summer and intact plastic tank

We all have our machines and mask listed in our profile. It is easier for people trying to help you if they can see your equipment listed in each post. Because not too many people are going to go searching for info you should provide in your profile. It's the best way to get the help you need.
I have never heard of a Res Med Air Med 10, and what FFM? Is is Resmed Airsense 10 Auto?

I should send you my old PRS1. The humidifier broke around year 2 or 3, and it would only work in Passover mode. I don't like warm air blowing in my face either, so it turned out to be OK except when I was sick and really needed the humidity. We keep our room pretty cold at night (except a few very hot summer days--no AC) so the air in that machine was always really cold.

I have my new ResMed Airsense turned all the way down. I wouldn't say it's cold like the PRS1, this humidifier seems to work even when it doesn't have to. But it's not warm air, so I'm OK with that.

BTW, I got my PRS1 the week of Passover. I kept wondering why there were so many religious Jews here who had to use their CPAP's a special way on Passover. I'm embarrassed at how long it took to figure that out

The water can easily expand in a vertical dimension inside the tank when it freezes. Hence there's no real risk to the tank.

Freezing water will only crack a container if the volume of the container is less than or very close to the volume needed to freeze the water AND there's a significant "bottle neck" in the container to prevent the natural expansion of the water.

Why not just fill the humidifier with cold water and turn the humidity to off.....same effect as using another product?
