SmartCard Error Message

Post by SleepLessInKansas » Fri Aug 25, 2006 6:02 pm

I can't download, erase or return the smart card to the machine. I got it the first time I tried to erase the smart card. So, of course I tried the other one. Now I have two smartcards that are dead. I've opened and closed Encore Pro and shut the PC down and brought it back up. What did I do wrong? Any ideas? Here's the error message I get:

"An error occurred while downloading from the SmartCard.
Error Source: ResprionicsSmartCard2.Type0.1
Error Number:8004020F"

You are showing a Resmed machine and a Respironics humidifer. I assume you are using a Respironics Remstar of some sort??

What card reader do you have?

Marc

Thanks Marc, forgot to change my profile. It's an Infineer card reader. I purchased it from cpap.com bundled with Encore Pro. The cards have been working fine for the last week until tonight.

So I take it when you put it back in your Remstar you get an error code by chance?

Also, I assume you have been downloading data etc ok up until today?

I did a search on the error message you listed and came up with the following links:

viewtopic.php?t=4612

viewtopic.php?t=5803

You might try the second one first.....it's shorter.

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

Just use the EncorePro, select your patient profile and Erase the card then Setup the card again.

I would NOT use the Prescription featue of EncorePro to change your setting, do that from the machine's LCD instead.

It working again!!

Mailbu - No error message just constant beeping when I inserted it back into the machine. It showed an X in the display. Yes, I've been downloading for the last week.

Wulfman - I searched on just smartcard error. Next time I'll be more specific. I found the fix in the long thread!

Snoredog - I tried to erase in Encore and setup the card again but it just gave error messages. I did change the machine from CPAP to APAP using the LCD after getting a one week baseline. I thought of changing it the other way with Encore but read your post first.

I moved the reader from the monitor USB port to the front of the PC and it started working again. I was then able to erase both cards and start over.

Thanks for all of the replies. I'm just amazed at how everyone is so willing to share their wealth of knowledge with others. It is very much appreciated.

Big storm coming over and have to go. Thanks Everyone!!!!

Sleepless,

Glad to hear you found the solution.
Better head for the storm cave with Dorothy and Toto.

Best wishes,

SmartCard Error Message

I've noticed sensitivity of the Infineer card reader, and an HP scanner, to which port it is plugged into.

I suspect two factors:
> device driver wants the same port it was installed with
> some ports are on the far side of a hub function (in my case the docking base of my laptop)

It is a bother because I might like to operate without the docking base while travelling.

Yep. They can be finicky.
I don't have a laptop/docking base so I can't comment on that one, but there was a thread recently which discussed the "device driver wants the same port it was installed with" issue.

Best wishes,
