Encorepro error message

Post by wendysquilts » Tue Nov 22, 2005 1:41 am

I just got my software and card reader and have it up but when i try to download my card it gets about half way and then gives me the message that an error has occurred while downloading with the
Source Resperonics Smart card 2.Type0.1
Error Number : 80040213
Does anyone know what to do to get it to work?
(I have the Resperonics Autopap)

If you have a second card try putting it in and have encore read it.

There should have been the card in the machine when you got it and then another card in the Encore Pro software package (in a folder "thingy" that says "Encore Pro Smartcard").

Is this the first time you've tried to download data from the card?....Or has it been working before this?
Have you created yourself as "patient" in the Encore Pro software?
Will it allow you to erase the card?

I don't know what the problem might be....I'm just asking questions that may give us a clue.

I didnt see a card with the package, might have missplaced somewhere. I'm trying to use the card that came with the machine. It is the first time I've tried to download from the card. And i have created myself as "patient" in the Encore Pro software. Do i need to erase all the data that the card has already collected?

Wendy,
You might try an "Erase", then a "Setup" under the SmartCard Utilities. You will of course, loose all of your data...
As was stated above, you should have two cards with Encore Pro. There should be a folded card marked "encore pro smartcard" in the package with a second SmartCard in a pocket inside.

I also am getting errors on all my 5 smartcards I bought from 2 factors.
They beep C-1 in the machine itself. I assume they need initial info from Encore (SETUP).....When I try to read or write to them I get respironics error code 80040020D, meaning according to smartcard errors.....20D "unable to read"

I have installed and uninstalled both the Encore software and the Mako (Infineer) reader over and over with the assistance of someone who has pronounced everything A-OK and all the help files we have here on the forum. (Drivers, Windows XP upgrades, order of install and uninstall, reloading USB ports by tech..changing USB ports...checking every where and every angle)

I am going to try to load it into a third computer..but I am pretty sure my cards are no good. Has anyone had this error in the past and any insight. I admit defeat. The Respironics software just can't read the cards I bought. I know someone can help and it's not going to be Respironics. And so....any one?

I wonder if you've tried erasing the cards from within Encore Pro. I guess you probably have but it's worth a try if you haven't. (It's under Smartcard Utilities in the main menu)
