I can only presume Sleepyhead may not yet be updated to accept new DreamStation data but I am guessing at that.
You are correct. Sleepyhead doesn't work with the Dreamstation yet. There is a new version of Encore Pro that is more difficult to use but works. I don't have it but someone else might or you can PM Pugsy.

Well finally some success, I actually slept the entire night which is amazing considering what I have been through in last 2 weeks with BiPAP, including 2 days with my own DreamStation BiPAP

Diary notes follow:

Went to bed at 11:15, only moderately tired which continues to amaze me.
Used earplugs but doesn't seem to be effective with the air pressure breathing noise.
Seemed like I actually went to sleep fairly quickly which is unusual.
I slept right through the entire night which is a first in weeks.
Woke up at 8:00 only because of alarm.
Placed clock next to bed but never looked at it.
My brain seemed like it finally stopped racing and thinking of sleep and therapy.
Still on Dr's prescription settings as I have been unable to get into settings but I will try with previous posted advice.

Therapy Hours 8.9
AHI - 16.0
Mask Fit - 100%
Periodic Breathing - 3%
BPAP - 20.0
EPAP - 13.0

Still can't pair machine and iPad although they exchange model number but won't pair up.

Last night was a huge win for me, I was thinking that I was never going to sleep properly again.

They are obligated here in Ontario to follow the Doctor's prescription settings which I completely understand and agree with.

They actually gave me the Dr's hand written prescription when I picked up my own machine on Monday.

Another great night of sleep, 2nd in a row, hopefully I have turned corner.

Daily diary follows:

Cervical collar and ear plugs
Went to bed at 10:20, minimally tired
Seemed like I went to sleep quickly
Initial pressures are high and noisy but that white noise probably distracts my brain from thinking
Never woke up during night and awake at 7:15 when I checked alarm
Second night of using a full tray of water
My mouth seems open too much despite my efforts.
Wondering whether tape would help, any suggestions?
No gas or farting though.

Readings as follows:

AHI 7.7
Mask Fit - 97%
Per BR. - 11%
IPAP 90% - 20.0
EPAP 90% - 13.0

Still on Dr's settings

I would try raising the lower pressure a little ...might cure a lot
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

Yes I am going to do that as Pugsy advised me let the machine do what it is supposed to do, go up to 25 cm if need be and also raise the lower pressure to around 13-14 as well.

This machine is high tech and getting into the Clinician setup mode hasn't worked yet although I have the instructions.

Any ideas on type of tape to safely and comfortably keep lips closed through night.

Thanks for reading and replying.

I don't have a DreamStation Bipap ... but the cpap auto I do have ...

getting to the clinicians menus is the same as it is with the 60 series

press in on the knob and the ramp button(small button on top with an arrow) and hold for 5 to 10 seconds there is no audible indication but the screen will scroll up ... then select therapy and push the knob in ... then turn to the item you want to change.

Made some good progress, finally got into the Clinician setup and made the suggested changes.

Didn't see anything on RT (Return Time)

Also downloaded DreamMapper but certainly not the detail of SleepyHead.

Anxious to see if I can get 3 straight high-quality sleeps and achieve better numbers with my new recommended settings.

Merry Christmas everyone, enjoy a Happy and Healthy Holiday.

Thanks GrayHost

The terms confused me but I think I got it done, except RT.

Bah Humbug!

Like a child expecting a lovely Christmas present today, I received a big lump of coal.

After waiting to get my own machine and able to revise the Dr's prescribed settings I was pumped to take the next step in my therapy.

Daily diary follows:

Went to bed at 11:45, surprisingly not tired whatsoever.

Right from the first few breaths I knew something was wrong, no BiPAP feeling of high pressure on inhale followed by much lower pressure on exhale.

There wasn't the usual noise from the breathing.

Lay awake for hours, looked at clock at 3:09, tried to fall asleep but gave up at 4:20.

Hopefully got some sleep as I got up at 9:20.

Readings for what they are worth:

Therapy Hours - 4.3
AHI - 4.9
Mask Fit - 100%
Periodic Breathing - 9%
IPAP 90% - 21.0
EPAP 90% - 17.5

What a Downer.

I will recheck the numbers I set but I thought I was careful but mistakes could have happened but those pressures above were about what I expected.

Any thoughts?

Looks like my Christmas present came late.

No changes made to settings, second day on Advisor recommendations.

Went to bed at 10:20 and was tired. Got up at 8:15 and left mask on entire night.

Like the night before, the really noticeable high pressure only lasted for a minute or two where I could easily discern between inhale and exhale pressures. After that brief period I couldn't really tell between inhale and exhale, either by pressure or sound.

I guess the Auto is doing what is supposed to do.

Didn't really think I had a good sleep but I never looked at clock so I guess I did sleep.

Amazing AHI as noted below.

Total Hours - 9.2
AHI - 1.6
Mask Fit - 100%
Periodic Breathing - 6%
IPAP 90% - 20.0
EPAP 90% - 16.5

Still feel tired when I get up but after all this maybe to be expected.

I have Sleep Cycle app on my iPhone but haven't used it lately, does anyone believe this actually works. Shows amazing graphs of sleep pattern but is it really factual?

Awaiting comments as usual.

Terrible, terrible night, couldn't get to sleep all night.

Went to bed at 10:30, looked at clock at 11:30, 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00 and took off mask at 8:00 but lay in bed for another 90 minutes. Can't be hallucinating as I know I rolled over and looked at clock.

Can't shut my mind off.

Daily diary:
Never bother using Ramp Feature
Went to bed and was very tired, looked forward to a great sleep as I slept through previous night.
Cervical collar and ear plugs.
Crazy how I hear sound of breathing in and out. Sometimes it is very loud and other times almost indiscernible.
Lots of minor pinhole leaks last night which were difficult to seal but got better.

Therapy Hours - 9.4
AHI - 10.2
Mask Fit - 96% as noted above
Periodic Breathing - 8%
IPAP 90% - 21.5
EPAP 90% - 17.0

This battle is going downhill, I don't know whether I am going to win.

Much better night, hopefully a good sign.

Went to bed at 10:30, went to sleep quicker than normal and did not wake until around 5:30, looked at clock at 6:30 for first time and got up at 7:30

9.1 hours
3.7 AHI
100% Mask Fit
3% P.B.
18.5 IPAP 90%
14.0 EPAP 90%

Surprisingly I don't feel the pressure like previously, it is almost as there is no machine pressure and noise of breathing is less, particularly when I am on my side versus back.

Mask fits great, no issue there at all.

Another no-sleep night, unbelievable, never experienced this until this therapy.

Was outside most of day so expected a good sleep, not to be. I never slept the entire evening which seems impossible but seems to happen every second night.

Went to bed at 11:00, despite not wanting to ai turned clock around at 1:12 and again at 5:30 and got up at 7:30.

Mask firs well, never took it off despite not sleeping.

I don't feel pressure at all and noise of breathing is down to nothing.

Used Ramp last night for first time.

Results follow

8.5 hours
AHI 5.5
94% Mask Fit
1% Periodic Breathing
20.5 90% IPAP
16.0 90% EPAP

Surprised how high these pressures are since I was awake and presumably no apnea events.

Don't see my Sleep Doctor until Jan 20th

I am fairly new to this but something you can look into - Check the period your AHI is set to.

Because in the start for me I was freaking out cause my AHI was high as well only when I noticed it was set for 3 months and uses a cumulative to give you your figure - So when I set my machine to daily then I was getting below 5.

That was my experience hope it helps.
