The first time I ever downloaded from the smart card, I thought it hadn't collected everything it was supposed to. After the download finished, a single page appeared that said: Compliance Details. I scrolled down, but there was just that one page. I thought, "Is that all there was on the card?"
Eventually I found that while at the single page of Compliance Details, I needed to use the little green up/down arrows in the toolbar above that page instead of just using the scroll bar at right side of page. The up/down arrows took me on through a lot more pages - through the complete report.
The steps I go through now are:
1. start up Encore.
2. In the "Patient List" doubleclick your patient name.
3. in the "Interactions" menu at far left, click "Download Data", then click "SmartCard Reader".
4. "Enter Interaction Details" window will pop up asking if the smart card is going to be returned to same patient - "yes". Click "ok". All info in that window (physician, pcp, clinician) can be left as "none" or whatever's there.
5. Download will proceed telling you it's "extracting data from smart card" and then "updating database". When the download is finished, doubleclick the most recent date in the lower left pane called "Interaction list".
6. "Report Options" window will pop up - put a tick for "Full Details". I leave the "date range" alone, just click "ok" for that.
7. The "Report Viewer" window will come up showing just one page - the "Compliance Details". That's the window where you use the green up/down arrows to go through the entire report.
Before I exit from looking at the data, I click "File" and save it as a PDF file if it's data I think I might like to look back on someday (like first night trying a new mask). I give it a unique filename, like "Swift-Oct21-2005.pdf" and store it in a folder I created on my computer called "Encore Downloads". Easier to find in the future.
I have no need to make the smart card retain data after a download. The software and info are just for me - no doctor or DME will be checking the smart card for compliance later. I already know how much I'm using the machine...every night, every nap...for every sleeping moment.

That’s how I've been using it, usually each day. But when I recorded 5 nights in a row without downloading I found that the long term trend report showed the averaged AHI etc across all the nights, but there was no detail data for individual nights, except for the last night. This was a bummer because I was making small changes each night for comparative purposes. Is this how the software works or have you found different?
I think he is expecting to be able to get a single night. I believe the way that you do that is by date range... Will let you know after a few nights if it works that way...derek wrote:cpaper,
I have certainly shown the detail reports from multiple days in a single download. Make sure you have checked Full Details and All Data on the Report Options Screen, as Rested Gal suggests. The individual nightly details will begin on page 4 of the report.
When I returned from Bora Bora at the beginning of February, I didn't down load the data from my machine until a week later. Before leaving, there was only 1-night of data on the card because we left so early in the morning to catch the plane to L.A.
In most cases I had been downloading data every 4 to five days and never found any information missing, but this time when the data was downloaded, every day's data older than than 5-days, only showed compliance information instead of all the details of how the night transpired when it was viewed from within Encore Pro and MyEncore.
Since that experience, I've been unwilling to let more than four days go by before downloading data so I don't generate another major data hole in my data.
