I forgot to insert sd card last night

Post by coolbranch » Sun May 17, 2015 8:46 am

This morning I noticed my mistake. I plugged in the sd card just to see if any data is stored on board the A10 Autoset. Then I inserted in computer slot and imported into Sleepyhead. In SH no daily graph data but in the statistics tab only the session in/out time, total hours and AHI data shows up. The AHI data in SH is a far cry from what the cpap machine is telling me.

I guess my attempt to recover info is par for the course when one leaves the sd card out during the night? Which should I trust for AHI data? The machine or the SH import?

After leaving the card out twice , I made a 3x5 card, that sits on the nightstand next to the machine, that says "CARD OUT." When I take the SD card out, I put the 3x5 on top of the machine. That way, I can tell if I left the SD card in the computer all day and need to go downstairs to get it .

Works like a charm.

If there is a discrepancy in the data when SleepyHead doesn't have all the data because the SD card wasn't in the machine to get all the data then I would tend to believe the machine's on screen data in this situation. Though it should be real close unless the time frame for reporting isn't the same. If there was a big discrepancy then I would first look to make sure that we are comparing apples to apples and the 12 noon reset for a new day isn't involved somehow.

The A10 Autoset shows 3.2 AHI which is high for me.

The SH import displays .48 AHI. No date change issue as suggested. It's a little weird that SH picked up entirely different info.

I love the 3x5 index card reminder idea. I will do this now.

ResScan would need to be used for final clarification and comparison...if it bugs you too much.

Thanks Pugsy. I will just blow it off as lesson learned. Inquiring minds just want to know, that's all.

During the 7 hour plus usage that SleepyHead is showing...did you by chance turn the machine off and the back on at anytime? If you did then it is possible that the machine LCD screen is showing an AHI relative to the last session and not the entire 7 hours.

I did. I let Ringo the Yorkshire out. I noticed that the machine had 4 AHI when I shut it off at 4:31 . I have to believe the machine at this point. No way I recovered to .48 AHI as SH states in 3 additional hours. The machine stated 3.2 AHI at 7:42 AM.

The forum only displays Images. so anything that doesn't END with .jpg .gif .png will show as an error. Remove the ?dl=0 and it will show as an image.

10-4 thanks! Anyway, I don't recall having to do that in the past.

I was able to see the first image just by right clicking on the word image and choosing "view image" and it took me to the dropbox image.

Using dropbox is more difficult getting the right url than using imgur.com for images.
I have used dropbox for images on occasion and it's always hit or miss getting the image to show up because I don't get the right address. I don't use dropbox enough to remember what I need to get and imgur tells me right up front what to use....so I take the easy way out.

Now I have learned two important lessons on this thread. Thanks.

I also found the same thing...when I left my card out of my cpap for a week, and then put it back in, the machine wrote the summary data for the missing days. And sleepyhead could not display that data correctly, but ResScan could. I'm guessing that it isn't a big issue for the Sleepyhead author to get just the summary data that ResScan is able to display to be displayed correctly, but I thought that Sleepyhead should at least tell you that the data displayed in this case isn't reliable, to go look at it in ResScan. I didn't see any indication that Sleepyhead knew that it was not displaying correctly, which makes me wonder if there's some way that it could detect that and give users a hint *smile*.

On the other hand, I'm very happy to have Sleepyhead, the author of it has obviously spent a lot of personal time to get it to where it is. I chose to use it over ResScan some time ago...started with ResScan, then used both Sleepyhead and ResScan for a while, and finally decided that Sleepyhead was so much easier to use that's the only software that I use now. Given that it is freely available software, I'm very happy to have it, and there is a lot of very valuable and useful functionality there. My wholehearted thanks to the author.
