Wife hates it

Post by Jim steer » Mon Jun 16, 2014 2:36 pm

My wife hasn't said anything, but she prefers that I don't use the CPAP, since it looks dorky.

You may look dorky, but by using it you'll be around for her to appreciate. That is if she appreciates you.

People use to say that about seat belts, cell phone's, laptops, small cars... I think I will stick around to see what comes out next, in a couple months it wont look "dorky" and once you start feeling better she will love it...

Ditch the bitch!!!

She's obviously more interested on collecting on your life insurance policy after you're dead than keeping you healthy and alive.

Yep, they look dorky. But so do most of the "fashions" you see on runway models. Try coming to bed wearing your mask, a feather boa and a pair of thong undies. That should distract her from the dorkiness of the mask.

When she wakes up one morning and shakes you to wake you up and your lying dead in bed she might say well maybe it wasn't so dorky after all.

Your wife sounds like an intelligent and giving person who cares deeply about her husband's health

I am buying my wife flowers!

Would she rather see you in a casket from all the health problems that come from untreated apnea, she needs some education on the whys of cpap. then hopefully she will look upon a mask as a lifesaver

My father still helps put my mother to bed, in spite of her adult diapers, the sling we have to use, the fact that she can no longer speak and she cuddles a pink fuzzy teddy bear. It is called love and being married.
Caring for your partners health in spite of dorky looking things, over looking the ugly effects of time and illness, it is called love and being married.

Cpap is not the same was wearing lime green Bermuda shorts, socks with sandals and a polyester imitation Hawaiian shirt.

Not sure what you expected from us. Sympathy that you married a selfish woman? My guess is that this isn't her first selfish act, and it won't be her last.

YOU have to decide for yourself whether you are going to take care of yourself. I can tell you that if you don't use your CPAP and end up with a severe heart attack, heart failure, stroke, or dementia because of untreated apnea, she's not going to hang around and change your diapers. If she thinks a CPAP mask looks dorky . . .

So it's up to you. What are you going to do?

Wait, wait, wait everybody!

Now that this woman has been character-assassinated:

He said
My wife hasn't said anything, but she prefers that I don't use the CPAP, since it looks dorky.
So Jim, are you just assuming she prefers that you don't use your CPAP? Are you figuring that because you think you look dorky that she thinks so too and is put off by it?

Heck, we all know we look dorky in our CPAP getup, and our spouses/partners know too. That doesn't necessarily mean they're unsupportive of our using the therapy.

Innocent until proven guilty, guys?

That premise is based on the supposition that husbands can't "read" their wives' "signals" and spoken or unspoken innuendos.

Men may never "understand" women, but they can sure interpret the signals they get from them.
