Humor - Wanted: Int'l Symbol for Sleep Apnea

Post by Guest » Thu Aug 23, 2007 3:08 pm

Okay, you know that int'l symbol for disabled access?

en.wikipedia DOT org/wiki/International_Symbol_of_Accessibility

That's the blue and white sign we in the US use for designating parking spaces reserved for those with disabilities.

Well, I want a symbol that looks very similar, but that is for hoseheads. Like, a round face with a nasal mask on it, and a hose, and maybe some zzzz's.... Then we can print blue t-shirts with white symbols on them, and wear them to work on those days when we are feeling particularly sleep deprived.

I'm having one of those days, and I keep making goofy mistakes. Like asking Human Resources for a Mileage Claim form, instead of a timesheet...

So, where's my favorite artist? I need some art!!!!

LOL,
Babette the Bumbling

That would rock! Can't wear a t-shirt to work, but could hang a sign on my office door!

If someone creates the art, you could put it on anything you wanted.

We could start a cafepress storefront and raise money for indigent hoseheads. People could apply for "mask-ships" and get their masks bought for them when they can't get one from their idiot DME or Insurance.

LOL,
B.

I'll give it a try! Will post the outcome if it's not too shabby! Other artists feel free to do the same though!

I have a vision that we will figure out an easy way to ensure that children develop wide, deep, healthy and attractive jaws and then obstructive sleep apnea becomes an obscure bit of history.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ycw4uaX ... re=related

It seems like a few years back I ran across a site on the net that would generate them for you. (can't find it now... is it just me, or are all the really good nonsense sites drying up? )

I was thinking something along the lines of (forgive the ascii art)

Here's mine!

EDIT: I did some searching and didn't find a symbol already out there, but did find out that a black wristband is used for sleep apnea awareness. Check out the link!
