If you use it do you like it and what about the sizing. How does it run?
Is the blue gel part very soft?

Ok, I have tried nasal pillows and even though I like the concept they tend to dry out my nasal passages beyond my endurance. I am looking for a nasal mask that has a very soft cushion. I love the Activa but it is just to big for me.
I would even consider trying a full face mask. Not because I mouth breath but because sometimes my top teeth get sore from having a mask sit on my top lip. This tends to happen because I am short between the nose and the lip.
Any suggestions welcome. I have tried many, most recently the Soyala.

I use the comfort gel (also couldn't tolerate nasal pillows) and I really like it. Granted, only a 3+ week user, but the mask itself is very comfortable. I have a small and I do NOT have a small nose, it fits snug but good.
My only problem is mouth leaking, which is related to any nasal mask.
One comment is that I don't know about durability given my short use of it. No problems as of yet but any plastics like this could have some weaknesses, like the ball joints where the headgear attach. (I'm very careful to avoid stressing them when attaching/detaching in order to not snap them.)

I've been using the Comfort Gel (Small) for about 2 months and I really like it. I used the Profile Lite (Small) before that and thought it was ok. With the Comfort Gel I don't have to have the headgear as tight as I did on the PL. I do occasionally have problems with the outer layer pinching my skin a little if I shift too much while I sleep, but that is pretty rare. The blue gel part seems comfortably "cushy", but so did the one on the PL. I don't like that the headgear has NO give or elasticity. (the PL did). The sizing is consistent between the two masks. (I think I'm gonna ask for a petite next time as they both feel too big)
I've tried a New Version Breeze nasal pillows mask and was unable to tolerate it touching the insides of my nostrils.
Hope this helps.

Just have your super glue ready. Jim (Goofproof) says even a cave man can use that stuffdutchbrown wrote:I use the comfort gel (also couldn't tolerate nasal pillows) and I really like it. Me, I hook mine to a ten foot hose, and touch it too. It's cost effective and gives good numbers as long as you can keep the leak rate under 36 LPM, not hard to do, unless you mouthbreath. I use the "M" in ComfortGel and ComfortFull. It pays to get a spare as parts break, but not too bad, you just need to treat it with kid gloves.
I don't care for the vent system, It's a slot type in the swivel, it needs a defuser, and maybe it vents a little more than required. But I use 14.5 CM, at 10 it would move a lot less air. I rate it as a good choice. Jim

Super Glue to hold the part on while the Epoxy cures. So both are needed, growing a couple of extra hands helps to. If you are like Tim Taylor on "ToolTime", all bets are off. I made a stand with clamps, to hold my projects, as I work them over, orginally built it for electric projects, but it works on masks too. JimDreamStalker wrote:Just have your super glue ready. FWIW-
I mainly use the ComfortGel (I use a Swift II maybe 2 days a week). I have a medium. The gel cushion is much more comfortable than the cushion on the F&P 407 that I tried during my sleep study (but it was a small and I was unacquainted with the tricks involved in getting optimal mask fit, so the comparison is perhaps a little unfair).
As for sizing, my DME helped me determine that the medium was a better fit for me than the small, although the small would have accommodated my nose OK. If you are working with a DME, this is an area where they can be a good resource.
As DreamStalker points out, individual reaction might vary.
Best wishes,
Bill

I have the Comfort Gel as a backup mask. I really like it. I have a small but I think I am borderline between that and a Petite. But the Small fits great. It does tend to rest on the area between lip and nose, but this is with any nasal mask. I wore it straight out of box for a couple months, then I did the boiling water thing and formed it to my face. Then last week, I did the boiling water thing and let it reshape back to normal. Still works great. Due to my high pressure of 17, I have difficulty wearing pillows... but the Activa is my first choice, then the CGel.

Comfort select
I have a small Respironics Comfort Select. That seems to work for me. I'm just have some "noise" not leakage problems with the mask since changing from a Fisher and Paykel 600 CPAP to a Resmed Eite.

i use the comfort-gel, it is the only mask i've ever used (been on a 2 months.)
i think the "gel" part is very comfy. i haven't had any pinching or leaking problems. i use a size petite, which i never thought i;d be a petite in anything.
i agree with goofproof about the vent being a little..much sometimes, this would pose a bigger problem for me if i were sleeping with a partner...
