Sleep Weaver --- CLOTH!! Mask????
a little nervous
This script from the website pushed my worry button
In what position can the tubing be run when using SleepWeaver?
With SleepWeaver, it is recommended you place the hose down towards your chest, or off to either side. If you wish to direct the tubing over your head, i.e. behind the headboard of the bed, ensure that a sufficient length of tube is available so the cloth does not kink and cut off airflow.
I was searching the website for a us patent number, anyone else find one?

anti kink feature
SleepWeaver now has been improved with an internal length of tubing that does not allow the cloth to kink. Air will therefore always flow from the tubing through the mask into the nares.

Sleep Weaver Mask
Hi Everyone,
I live about 25 miles from the area where the Sleep Weaver was made. I went to a meeting in our area for people with sleep apnea. At that meeting there was someone from Circadiance there. I got to see and try on the mask, but it wasn't connected up to a machine. I found it to be too large for me, I am a woman, about 5' 2" and wear a petite/small gel mask. The material was very comfortable, though. I didn't like the hose going down my chest, I prefer the hose to go up over my head.
I believe that they will need to make more than just one size. And, like everyone else, I can't understand why it is so costly. I agree also, that they would benefit, in the long run, by making it more accessible financially. I think they are beginning to make strides in that direction, but they just are not there yet. Below is a copy of an e-mail that just came from them today. I am on their mailing list. I came upon this site after reading it and looking to see if it was being offered or sold by anyone else. I hope that it will be helpful. Believe me, I have nothing personal to gain and I am not affiliated with the company in any way. Even if I got 15% off, I still couldn't use it, it's too large for me.
Greetings, Dee Dee

Kind of sounds like a commercial doesn't it? I am glad that the regular posters on here can gently nudge the newbies from shelling out that kind of money on something that may or may NOT work as it is so expensive. If is is SO good why should you have to pay $25.00 for guaranteed fit insurance -- if there success rate is 85% and at the cost of the mask it looks like they could offer a return policy that would not have a price tag attached to it.
For those 15% that would come back donate them to those that have trouble purchasing their supplies -- then it would give them a tax break and make good advertising by word of mouth.
Maybe I am way off base here -- but you know the old saying if it is too good to be true -- it probably is (as far as fit goes).

If they really want to impress us, instead of "guest" posting how wonderful they are -- give away a few of them to posters on here that have been around awhile that can give us an unbiased opinion about them. It would be well worth it for the endorsement!!
Don't think that is going to happen so I choose to go with some of the other masks that HAVE been used by forum members. That is making an informed decision!!

would be nice if they had some real photos instead of a cartoon.
Don't forget to buy your GFI (Guaranteed Fit Insurance) for $25 bucks,

I would take that to mean they only have 1 size if one size fits all so why would you need insurance. One size fits all
One adjustable size, fits Men and Women;
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

sleepweaver cloth cpap mask
i have been using the sleepweaver a month now, and i am sleeping more than 6 hours a night. it's been more than 5 years since I slept that long. i have to get up for work at 5am 4 days a week, so my sleep cycle is a bit unusual as i also have to work many nights until 11pm or later. i never used any other masks before this, this is my first mask, but it fits me great and seals well and is really comfortable.

John V,
It it hard to take your post seriously without more information.
Are you saying you just started using cpap a month ago and the sleepweaver is the first mask you got with your cpap machine? That is not very believable without any explanation of how you got a very uncommon mask as your first one.
If you are documenting your real experience, please give us more information about how you cam by this mask as your first cpap experience, what machine you have, what pressure you have, etc. You could actually join cpaptalk and fill out a profile. If not, I can't give this any credence.

I just did a search on the Sleep Weaver and found this thread. Is there anything new on this mask? I mean other than what sound an awful lot like canned advertising?
It would seem that if these folks really did work for Respironics they would know better than to expect us to buy a new mask at such high prices (for a nasal mask, no less) without any trial or challenge.
On the other hand, I had a rough night with my Hybrid last night and would love a comfortable alternative.
Anybody real tried these masks yet?
Susan

Why not let cpap.com have a challenge against a regular mask of some kind and the Sleepweaver? That would be a great endorsement!!! I am sure alot of us would put more stock in that challenge than what a few guest have said about it.
Pur-Sleep puts his product where his mouth is by providing samples -- at his OWN expense for us to try with great results!! That is faith in your product as this can not be cheap for him to do!!

I got an offer last week from Circadiance/SleepWeaver to try their mask for free. It should be here any day. I'll give you all a heads up and post my thoughts and experiences. Didn't anyone else get this offer?
I think it was a smart idea. Their product is so different they could really use some independent reviews of trusted "locals." I guess they think I fit that bill.

I also got an offer from Circadiance to try the Sleep Weaver for free in exchange for providing them feedback. It was at my door when I got home this evening. I gave the strange little mask a good hand wash in preparation for using it. I am a little nervous about it because I want to make a good faith effort and give it a chance, but if it does not work well, I don't look forward to being more tired than usual from a few nights of bad sleep. Also, the hose can only be routed down the front and I am used to an overhead routing. Well, it is worth a try, and maybe it will work. Stand by.
