Is it coincidental that this company is based in the same town, Murrysville, PA, as Respironics. Since Murrysville only has a population of 20,000, what are the chances it was formed by some former Respironics employees.

Well CM, I don't know whether the mask works but I certainly give you kudos for innovation. If we start getting reports here that it is an effective mask, I will be back to you asking about the development of a full face model.

Try it Risk Free!
How is it "Risk Free" if it costs a $45 handling fee in addition to shipping costs both ways?!?! Sounds like a risk to my wallet for sure.

I looked at the site... their advertising doesn't completely match. The picture on the main page of the headgear doesn't match the picture inside... the one inside has headgear coming between the eyes.

The link that describes the headgear states: " Comfortable Headgear, comes with three straps, use one, two, or all three."
Currently using:
Fisher & Paykel HC640, heated, humidified
Respironics Optilife Mask
Innomed Hybrid Mask (to be used on occassions when nose is stuffed, etc)

I wonder if there are plans to market a full face version?

If the product is as good as they claim, I think the company should offer to issue the mask to anyone requesting it on this website, at cost. When a company does clinical trials, it cost the patient nothing to participate (and sometimes they pay for participation) because it benefits the company's research effort. This would not be much different, if the product is THAT GOOD, word will spread and the manufacturer will be a backlog of orders on its hands!

General question, do CPAP/BiPAP masks need FDA approval? If not, then a prescription should not be needed to purchase a mask. IMHO.

SleepWeaver Cloth Nasal CPAP Mask

Post by Guest » Sat Aug 25, 2007 11:25 am

Some more information for you all. Yes Murrysville is a hotbed of sleep products due to a certain company's long-standing time in the field. SleepWeaver has been conceived by a team with over 40 years collective experience in the sleep field.

The $45 trial program is unfortunately the only program being offered right now, stay tuned for changes in that as things develop. The FDA will not allow multiple patient use in the home care setting even if the mask is sterilized using cidex or control 3 solution.

The headgear is one, two, or three straps, most patients use two straps, but all three come standard with the mask.

This SleepWeaver is a Nasal mask only, a full face will be offered in the future. Register at the site to receive updates on that and changes in the trial program.

Hi SleepWeaver Doubters

I know it won't win a beauty contest but believe me the thing works like a charm for me.
Me--large nose--and I mean hooked and long with large nairs. After 4 years on Cpap and 8 masks I thought is was hopeless until one day by accident I was at my EP trying on an Respironics Optilite when the therapist in the next office heard my plight and she popped this bugle on me. I still didn't believe it until that night.
Comfort, light, noiseless, no gruesome marks on my beak (I'm on Warfarin and bruise). This mask has a special lined cloth that you will never have seen before and it does seal upon inflation. It has laser perferations that provide quiet expiration. And, it dos not seal your mouth. You can wear glasses and read if you like. I wash it everty week and it drys quickly.
I can't comment on prices but if you have problems like I have you will run not walk to try one of these revolutionary masks.
Beauty--no--but who the hell cares--it doesn't wake my wife and she loves me with or without a mask. Good luck.

Rooster,

Your quote ought to go somewhere in the Collective Wisdom category.

Maybe under the topic "How to Not Give in to Stupidity if You're New to CPAP."

It reads more like advertising copy than a post on a forum. Most reviews that I have read were written in the first person. How many posts from CPAP users have you read that said something like: "It has laser perferations that provide quiet expiration." or "This mask has a special lined cloth that you will never have seen before"? The only thing that looks realistic are the spelling errors.

I was all set to comment about the cartoon with no actual photo and snoredog beat me to it!

Sounds interesting. . . but. . .

I'd like to hear of a legit offer to trial it by a trusted forum member here who posts reliably.

Until then, no way will I even consider it.
