Aww, Den, that was cruel! 20 lashes w/a wet noodle for you!

tyropita, just be patient, someone will come along w/the Clinicians Manual in pdf that can be e-mailed to you or perhaps to an online link to the file. Just hand in here, it'll show up.

Heh. Haven't even gotten my machine yet (happening tomorrow), but I gather it's not included. Just trying to get ready.

Hey, Slink......they didn't say they WANTED one......just asked if it was available somewhere.

tyropita,

Just havin' a little fun with ya.
The Setup instructions have been posted many, many times on this forum and there are links to "places" where they can be copied or downloaded.

If and when you need them, give us a holler and we'll come up with them in some form for ya.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks, Den. I have searched the forum, and read through the various posts on accessing the information in the machine. Probably those, if I go through and take detailed notes and organize them, will cover what is in the manual, but having the manufacturer's instructions would be an additional source of security. I was able to find posts offering clinician's manuals for other models (e.g. the Autoset) but not this one. --PR

I'd be more than happy to share my copy. I posted details about it in another recent post here.

PM me your email address and I will send you a copy.

Paul56 has supplied me with the clinician's manual for the Autoset II (and received my private thanks, but here are my public thanks as well). I imagine there is considerable overlap between this and the Elite II, with the differences being primarily in lack of functionality in the Elite. I will post on any other differences I discover.

Turns out that for the four-week trial, I get an Escape, not an Elite. When I said that I had expected an Elite, they were quick to say that I could get one at the end of the four weeks, and for the same price. (Of course, this means that they are making even more profit off all those people who don't know the difference...)

Four weeks? What the heck kind of "trial" is that? Why wait so long? Make 'em give you the "good stuff" right off the bat. Sounds like double-talk to me.....since you already demonstrated that you knew something about the models of the machines.....they're obviously not used to that.

The four weeks is standard procedure in this part of Ontario (or so it seems from my touring various providers) and I don't want to turn the relationship adversarial if I can avoid it. If I have reasons to upgrade before then (such as difficulty in adjusting to the therapy), I'll make my case; otherwise, it just means I don't get to play with the data right away.

In the US that is not only double talk but a stall tactic.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet you will end up with this Elite. Who are they gonna sell it too?

Sounds to me like DME's are the same everywhere.

If they try to stick me with the Escape after the four weeks, I walk. Nothing's keeping me with them.

DMEs may be slightly different here because we have a single-payer system. My guess is that the four-week period is mandated by the government (I suppose I could do the research to find out for sure). Then the DMEs would use loaner machines for the break-in, losing nothing when people discontinue therapy, since they recycle them. I know I got one fresh out of the box, but only because the models changed recently.

I didn't realize (until a couple of posts ago) that you were in Canada. On the other hand, I've read about a lot of people on your side of the border having to fight with their DMEs, too. Some of them ended up ordering from CPAP.COM.

In any case, good luck with yours.

Oh, and be sure to let us know if they give you the clinical setup manual, too......

Thanks, Den. I'll consider myself warned. And I will have to order at least the card reader from cpap.com.

I'm not expecting to get the clinician's manual.
