I have been a faithful CPAP user since 2007. My sinuses had repeatedly argued with me over the forcing of air through their territory! I finally found a mask, not the most popular but it does seem to lower the impact of air through my sinuses... the Hans Rudolph. Then I discovered that that warm humid air, that felt soooo good in my lungs was also not popular with my sinuses. I now have it lowered to 3. I just started using Sleepyhead software, but also have Intellipap’s software. So, over the last week I was experiencing with pressure. I have always had many hypopneas and non-responding events.
One night I had major leak issues with my new HR and my numbers were better! That did not make sense... so... I started lowering my pressure from 9 to 8 to 7. At 7, I did not have leak issues, and had fantastic numbers (SH said 3.67, and Smartlink said 3.7) BUT I was sooooo tired that after just being up several hours I had to go back to bed! Luckily I am retired!!! I have noticed this weird number and leak happening before, but when I would mention it in the past to ‘the powers that be’ I never got a response. My sinuses love the low pressure, but I cannot function worth a d**!
One other thing... I had a silent stroke in the pons area...brainstem. I call that the communication hub from the brain, the body and all the operating systems of the body, including sleep. My worry is that my TIA might also be affecting my sleep...the problem is finding a doctor who can deal with my sleep, sinuses and whatever else is happening!

My recommendation is to keep lowering your humidification or even turn it off (but leave water in your HH tank).bdz wrote:I have been a faithful CPAP user since 2007. If you're not already, try doing nasal cleansing before bedtime, too.
