ResMed SD Card Issue

Post by charlesrshell » Sun Aug 10, 2014 11:26 am

I am having a ResMed SD card issue. Several days ago I received, from DME, a new SD card for my ResMed S9 AutoSet to swap out old card for a compliance check. Yesterday, after several days of use with the new card in my CPAP, I removed it so I could download data for SleepyHead and ResScan. When I inserted the card in my laptop’s SD card reader slot the drive did not automatically open. I checked for the card reader drive in my hard drive and it is not there. The previous ResMed SD card worked fine in my laptop. I tried an old SD card that has music on it and it works fine in my laptop. So I tried out the ResMed card in a USB card reader adapter and it works fine. All the latest data was there so I downloaded it in SleepyHead and ResScan. What could be causing the new ResMed SD card not to work in my laptop’s SD card reader slot but yet work in an USB card reader adapter? The old ResMed card worked fine in my computer's SD card reader slot. Thanks for any help.

Could the read/write tab have moved?

I agree with the frog...check to see if the SD card is locked. Also...you could spend a couple dollars and buy a new SD card.

Is the laptop older? Is the replacement card one of the SDHC card?
It may be that the SD card reader on your laptop isn't able to deal with anything but a plain SD card.
???? Just speculation.

No, I always lock the SD card before inserting in my laptop. It doesn't move.

Laptop is less than a year old. The only thing the card label says is ResMed SD Card. It looks identical to the previous ResMed card.

Check in your device manger on your laptop and see if the card reader is working properly. If not reinstall the driver. I had to to that once on my machine.

I've been using SD cards since before they were called SD cards. One thing I've learned is that sometimes card A doesn't work with device B. There's often no particular explanation for why, you just have to use a different card or card reader.

It says this device is working properly in device manager.

It works with my USB memory card reader adapter. Just really strange since the last ResMed card worked just fine. I hope it works ok for my next sleep Doc visit.
