oracle again, or not!

Post by jean19540_0 » Mon Jan 24, 2005 8:50 am

i know i've touched this subject before, but now i need help. in approx 30 minuets im going to be on my way to the hospital to see my lung function technition, he sorts me out with all of the equipment. i'm still having problems with the bridge of my nose, its sore & im wearing duo derm all the time, to stop it bleeding, which is a shame as the mask is very comfortable apart from that.
i spoke to the guy on the phone this am & he mentioned another f/f/mask by b&b which hes going to try me with, but if that doesnt suit, then he wants me to give the oracle, oral mask a go. i tryed this very briefly in the lab, but found the urge to nose breath very great, plus my cheeks were also very puffed all the time. he said that, the short time in the lab, trying it, was no good at all, as it would be attached to a heated humidifyer, which would stop the dry mouth + lying down, gravity would takeover and i would'nt then feel the need to nose breath. idealy it looks a good system, no headgear, can wear my specks properly to read at night, and i would'nt get any air leaks, or would i please anybody useing the oracle, or having used it, please advise me. it all seems quite scary to me.
i cant find any info on the net about the f/face mask by b&b either. please help jean

In the US we have Baskin & Robbins but they don't sell cpap equipment.
They sell 30+ flavors of ice cream!

b&b???

Post by jean19540_0 » Mon Jan 24, 2005 12:34 pm

seriously been to the hospital this afternoon & tried a b&b mask. its got a metal outer framework over the facemask, it did'nt fit very well though, so in the end tryed quite a few masks,4 to be exact, but stook with the original for now. apart from the nose problem, its very comfortable. i was advised, to stick with it for the time being, give my nose chance to heal totaly with the duoderm, my cheeks have healed wonderfully with it & no more probs with them, then if im still having probs to pop back again. my technition thinks once its all healed, i wont have anymore probs, as it was the smaller inner mask that caused the probs originally.now thats been changed everything should be A.OK.
