SLEEPYHEAD NOT DOWNLOADING

I am having problems downloading Sleepyhead onto my new laptop HP windows 8.1. Is it not compatible, or is it me , not knowing what I am doing. I am trying to download the 9.6 newest version, and it just doesn't do anything.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to technical things, but I have not had problems downloading other things so far.[/s

I just tried it and it was slow to start but eventually it did start to download.
It is compatible with Win 8.1 so that isn't the issue.

Are you sure you are clicking on the RIGHT download link? The OpenGL version is ONLY available on the Macs; the BrokenGL version will work on your Window 8.1 machine EVEN IF your machine tries to tell you that you need the OpenGL version.

I have downloaded:

All I get are the files, the actual home page does not open. Also, there is no sleepyhead icon?? I must be doing something wrong, I just don't know what. the file says" zip file"

Here's how I installed this:

1. Backed up my current SleepyHead data folder just for safety.

2. Moved the old SleepyHead folder in Programs(x86) to SleepyHead.0.9.3.

3. Created a new SleepyHead folder in Programs(x86) and dumped all the extracted junk from the .zip folder into it.

4. Ran the .exe file, and seems to be working (after re-importing all the data from SleepyHead's own backup).

Keep in mind that this isn't a installation package, just a pile of files. When I created a shortcut to SleepyHead.exe (in Program Files) on my desktop, this created a cute little sheep icon that I use to invoke it.

Thanks Roger....I am not that computer savvy....I have a computer man coming next Tues. to help me take out hard drives and transfer files from my old computers to the new one. I will have him set up sleepyhead for me, as I have been trying for quite a while now and am starting to get frustrated.

There is no installer for SleepyHead 0.9.6.

You need to double click the *.zip file to unzip it. Then go into the unzipped folder and look for the SleepyHead.exe file. Right click on that file and select "pin to task bar" or "pin to start menu" so that you don't have to go looking for the SleepyHead.exe file to start SleepyHead.

Understood, sounds like a good way to go. Enjoy using the new version, it does have a lot of improvements.

Not sure what CPAP machines you are using but as much as I like Sleepyhead and have it installed on 2 of my MacBooks, I am an apple person but like to keep my fingers in Windows as well so i recently purchased a nice Samsung laptop as it will work best with my Samsung S5 phone whilst my MacBooks work best with my iPads and iPhones..............so I was surprised when I downloaded the RESMED software and threw it on the Samsung that I quite liked it.

Mind you, I don't like Windows 8 and went back to Win 7 so its on that OS but its a nice software...........i don't seem to notice too many people using it but so far I am very happy with it as well.
So perhaps its an option if you just happen to find Sleepyhead to difficult to install..?

WOO HOO! I stuck with it and finally got it. Do not ask me how.....
It feels good when you are so dumb...then the lightbulb comes on!!

now, remember to always slide the little lock on the sd card to 'lock' before you stick it in your winblows puter, cuz winblows likes to leave 'tracks' on the card that the S9 doesn't like.

then remember to unlock the card before putting it in the vpap, or it'll grumble at you on it's screen

Thanks....I have already learned that one.... microsoft does not improve our lives with this edition, but I guess we will get used to it.
