How do nasal masks compare to pillows?

it is fine for me, there is no nose sore at all..
may you take some non-petroleum jelly ( KY / some baby jelly ) inside the nostrils, protect from a strong air follow to irritate yr nose hair

Yes, do not use petroleum jelly.

Ayr Gel, http://bfascher.com/products/ayr-saline-nasal-gel/, is the gold standard for inside the nostrils.

Lansinoh, https://www.lansinoh.com/products/hpa-lanolin, for external irritation.
