Hello,
Please advise on how to go about selling a Respironics BiPAP autoSV. It was given to me after a friend's passing. I realize its old and probably won't go for much but I would like to get more than what secondwindcpap would offer. I respect their business model but am donating the proceeds to charity. Would EBay or Amazon be a good option?
I am going to donate whatever money I get to the non-profit that enabled me with the tools I needed to save my daughter's life. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and uses a BiPAP as well.
Sincerely, Shannon
BiPAP autoSV REMstar - please advise on pricing

Exactly which model is it? That affects value greatly. Should be a model number somewhere on the bottom of the blower.
How many hours has the machine been used? Affects value greatly and anyone wanting to even consider this machine would need to know.
EBay rules won't allow the sale of any cpap/apap/bipap machine.
Craigslist is an option though.
I don't know about Amazon rules.
Does it look like this one? If so it isn't worth much.

Or this one...it might be worth something if low hours and model 950 or 960.

Thank you for your feedback Ms. Pugsy,
Unfortunately it is the first link. It has 35 hours logged on it. In addition to the machine, bag, extra humidifier, unopened components, etc. I have a nebulizer and multiple attachments. Can you recommend a listing price for the lot?

Wow, I had no idea it was worth so little. I saw the exact model on the cpap shop site for 3,200 originally 5,800. Thank you for the feedback.

That model machine was replaced by the model 950 a couple of years ago I think it was when Respironics finally changed the ASV machines to the new System One models. They totally skipped that model in the M series which was the sort of inbetween models for that Legacy series machine and the System One machines.
So in terms of actual age...the machine you have may not be nearly as old as one might initially think it is in terms of years. It could be 8 to10 years old or it could be 2 years old for all we know.
The cold hard facts of life is that it is still old technology which has been replaced by the 950 System One model and more recently the 960 model and prices for even the 960 now don't come anywhere close to $5,800. Just like everything else...with the new technology the prices have dropped.
MSRP is now $3,500 for the model 960 and even that price isn't the final price...it says call for price and this is the most recent model..the final price is going to be lower.

So $3,500 for that old Legacy series machine.....ain't gonna happen if anyone does any research on pricing. Why would I buy that old technology machine for $3,500 when I can get the very latest model for much less?
It's still a very good machine but it is a machine that is a special needs machine so the market for it is more limited thus your potential market is smaller and unless someone is going to want it for a back up or travel machine it's going to be a tough sell unless the price is bargain basement pricing.
If you had visions of getting a couple of grand for this machine....that's highly unlikely and for sure won't happen from any of the forum members here. We are notorious for being a bunch of tightwads. And that includes myself. If it had been a model 960....I would be interested but I am not interested in this model at any price. It doesn't have the features that I prefer to have.
You will be lucky to get a couple of hundred for it.
