Leaks

Post by BlowingWithTheWind » Fri Jul 04, 2014 8:30 am

I am getting an average leak of about 30. The graphs show it really never goes below 15 and sometimes goes in the 40's. Always get the green smiley on the machine though. Pretty sure it is mouth breathing since always have dry mouth and throat. Do you all concur? Have my DME coming out next week to fit me with a FFM.

Concur that leaks are running awfully high if 30 is your average (is 30 the median number or the 95% number?). Does this mean you have to go to a FFM? Not necessarily. Do you otherwise like the Swift FX?

I don't know how new you are to PAP therapy but some people have been able to get a handle on mouth breathing without going to a FFM. Also some find that when their Autoset has a very wide range of pressures set, leaks increase when the pressure increases during the night. That might even include more mouth leaking.

If you want to take a closer look at what's going on and what options you might have, post some screenshots of your graphs and we might be able to give you more feedback and ideas.
