Best Night EVER!!

Post by Guest » Fri Jun 09, 2006 8:14 am

Last night I had the best night's sleep I've had probably since I was born!! Yes, it was that good!

Just to set things up a bit - I have been drinking large quantities of Coke every day for a long time. I know it sounds stupid, but I didn't realize, until recently, that it was probably all that caffeine that was keeping me awake and functioning. Well, yesterday I jumped off the caffeine train - it was a little rocky and I had a withdrawl headache (still do!), but it paid off enough to make me want to stay off that train permanently.

Also, my nose was plugged up so I had to use my FF mask (F&P FlexiFit), and I slept in my bed - I had been sleeping on the couch. I woke up a couple of times to go to the bathroom from all the water I drank during the day, but I knew I was getting good sleep. I didn't realize how good it was until I checked the numbers. My AHI last night was - drum roll please!...........1!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I hope that result is reproducible and I hope I have many more nights like that, but if I don't, I cherish the one I did have. I am still recovering from many years of undiagnosed/untreated OSA, but I actually feel like I could jump for joy!!

Hey All,

Thanks for the support! The headache comes and goes, and right now it's gone. I'm a little tired, but if I didn't sleep so well last night it would be worse!! I'm glad the weekend is almost here -lots of naps with my APAP!!

Terri

That caffeine can really do the number on your sleep. I'm glad you had a good night's sleep. Actually, I am jealous I have been using my cpap for three weeks now, and am feeling a little frustrated that I am still waking up so often during the night. I wonder if I have something else going on besides the apnea... I'm holding out hope that I too will feel well rested. Keep up the good work!
