I've slept on my sides, one side or the other, semi-fetal position, as long as I can remember. No problem with that, it works for me. Since starting CPAP therapy I go to sleep in that position, but occasionally - not always, not even very often - I awaken in the complete supine position. Just an oddball kind of thing I've noticed, as that never ever happened before.

Re: Odd thing
Maybe you instinctually knew to avoid supine sleeping when your apnea was untreated. Many find their apnea is most severe in that position. Hopefully your titration captured some time supine in case you need a bit more pressure then (not everyone does) or you're watching your data just in case your new sleep habits affect your AHI. Enjoy your new sleeping freedom.
