STILL SNORING

Post by janelle14 » Wed Jun 18, 2014 4:35 am

My daughter and I noticed that I was snoring with my my mask while on vacation. Is this normal? I go back to the doctor this week and I am going to let her know, They reduced my setting a couple of weeks ago but we just noticed the snoring last week. whats up with the snoring?

Why did they reduce your setting? I would think that was the problem with snoring now.

I was told I didnt need the higher settings. That I was doing well enough. I was shocked when I snored myself awake and my daughter had heard it too. I am definately bringing it up Friday.

If the previous pressure was on the high side (I cannot define that actually) and the symptoms were under control then it would seem reasonable to me to back the pressure down and monitor in an attempt to discover the minimum effective setting. Pure conjecture obviously. I am interpreting still snoring to mean that snoring re-started.

Please fill out your profile with the exact equipment (machine & mask) and settings (pressure & humidifier) of your machine and other equipment. It's virtually impossible to come up with suggestions from what you've posted. What WERE your settings and what were they changed TO? If you're using a nasal mask, you may be mouth-breathing (and snoring). If your humidifier setting is too high, it can cause nasal congestion......and mouth-breathing (and snoring). If your pressure is too low, it may not be high enough to reduce the snoring. If you're not doing nasal cleansing before bedtime, the congestion may be the source of your snoring.
Lots of possibilities but we have no real clues until you give us something to work with.
