Help with MyEncore
I received my Encore Pro (1.6.22) package today, installed it, and then installed the card reader software. I then imported my data from the smartcard and am able to view the data from within Encore Pro. Everything seemed fine to that point.
I then downloaded MyEncore version 15b7 and installed it. No problem. However, when I try to open it, I get this error message: Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup.
I tried rebooting but it made no difference. I uninstalled and reinstalled MyEncore 15b7 but it still won't open and just gives me the same error message.
I've reopened Encore Pro and my data is still there.
[Added] The MSSQL server is running.
Any suggestions, or can someone point me to a previous post that covers this?
Thanks
Don

Please keep us advised. There are several of us with 1.6.22 and MyEncore
won't work. Wish it would.
If you figure it out ...please tell us what you did......thanks.

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.
I LOVE the SV.

I'll keep poking around, but I haven't found a solution so far. I know where Encore Pro stores its files but, even though I've done a fair amount of database management stuff in years past, I REALLY don't like fooling around with someone else's design. There are WAY too many opportunities to do some damage to the data.dllfo wrote:Please keep us advised. There are several of us with 1.6.22 and MyEncore

My guess is that Encore's version 1.6.22 made some changes to the data structure which MyEncore hasn't been modified to read, but I could be wrong on that. Maybe someone else will figure it out. Right now the Encore program itself doesn't provide me with very much useful information. I already know what hours I'm sleeping.

Not to second guess you, but are you sure you got 1.5b7? I ask because I originally downloaded the wrong one by mistake. I thought I got 1.5b7 but it wasn't.
You might try downloading again even if it is the correct version. Although I wouldn't expect it to install if there were an issue with download, something could be corrupt. Here is the link that I followed for 1.5b7 http://lewiston.mit.edu/myencore/myencore15b7.msi.
The only other thing I can think of is possibly the way the initial database questions presented when installing EncorePro are answered could affect MyEncore's ability to access the database. Sorry, I don't remember exactly how the questions are presented or how I answered them, but I do remember that I did give the database a password. Hopefully others can shed some light on whats going on.

Don,
When you open the data that you download, are you selecting the box for full details. EncorePro will give you all the data that you get with Myencore, it is just in a different format.
