Barrel cozy

Post by Paul_H » Sun Jun 01, 2014 10:35 pm

Hello:

I received a barrel cozy for my Swift FX nose pillow mask on Friday, from Pad a Cheek (kudos to the owner of this company for creating so many great products to help us). I had ordered it as I was getting some condensation in the mask, and am otherwise happy with my temperature and humidity settings. I just put it on the mask, and the holes in the cozy are so small that I had to struggle to get the nose pillows through them (large size pillows). I had to tug fairly forcefully on the pillows to get them through the openings, and am worried that over the long - or even the short - term, I might damage them. Am I worried about nothing, and these masks, made of whatever they are - some kind of silicone compound - are tougher than they appear?

Thanks for any opinions or suggestions on this.

Looking forward to trying it out tonight, regardless.

Regards,

Paul

The holes in the cozy can be enlarged with a tiny bit of snipping with some tiny scissors so that not so much force is needed to get the cones through the holes and you might want to do that if the pressure from the holes is maybe changing the angle of the pillows just a little. I know of one person who needed to do that.
Otherwise the silicone is sturdier than you would think...and with time the holes will stretch out a bit on their own.

Thanks, Pugsy and Janknitz. I did find that the cozy changed the angle of the pillows a bit, and made them slightly less easy to insert at the best angle for no leaks, so I think I will try enlarging them a tiny bit.

By the way, I had my first night on this last night, and in the morning I opened the cozy to look at the barrel and there was zero condensation in it, so this is a very good thing to have.

Paul
