Resmed S9 Auto settings

Post by peacemaker » Wed May 21, 2014 1:50 pm

Hi All,

My doctor prescribed a pressure of 8, my machine came from CPAP.com with 4-20 range. I've heard some people have issues with 4, should I bump it to 6-20?

Thanks,

Greg

Some people find that they feel rather suffocated at 4 cm pressure. We won't suffocate but it sure can seem like it.
So if you find that you are one of those who feels like their breathing is rather stifled then an increase from 4 cm minimum to 5 or 6 will probably be more comfortable for you and the first thing we need for good sleep is to feel comfortable with the breathing.

4 to 20 is the factory default settings.

Greg:

Did you intend to say that your doctor prescribed a fixed 8 cm H2O pressure?
If that's the case, then setting your machine to Auto 8-20 would probably be just fine.
