Bad Data on my Card?

Post by sc0ttt » Mon May 19, 2014 7:54 pm

I started CPAP on March 8, and there are eight days out of the first 10 that seem to have bad data and it's messing up my SleepyHead chart.
4700 AHI would mean just about every breath for 10 hours. I don't really care that there are some bad data points in there, except Sleepyhead scales the chart so that the bars for the real days are unreadable. The scale stays the same when I look more recent data - looking at only April for example still doesn't help.

Any ideas how I can get rid of this?

Which version of SleepyHead are you using? Windows?

See my instructions in this thread for this person who had similar corrupted data. Manually removing the files from the SleepyHead folder in MyDocuments did work for this person.

Or if you wish to try SleepyHead 0.9.6 testing version..send me a private message...or wait a few days and the official 0.9.6 Windows version with the installer should be released shortly.

If you have a Mac...which Mac version?

Thanks Pugsy - Windows Vista and Sleepyhead v0.9.3-0.

Deleting the records like you described in that other post worked, but they all came back when I imported from the card again.

I can wait for the next version - if I understand you correctly it'll fix the scale of the y-axis on screens that don't include the bad data (like last month instead of last year) that'll be a fine solution... but it really is bad data on my card, right? Wonder what it really means.

It's a SleepyHead bug...nothing wrong with the data files on the SD card. It's a bug in how SH sees it. Intermittent bug at that.

Do you want Encore Basic? It will work just fine with your computer. I normally suggest that people confirm with Encore what they are seeing on SleepyHead but the AHI like yours...it's SleepyHead. I bet Encore won't show anything out of the ordinary in this situation. This seems to be a intermittent SH bug that mainly affects 60 series machines. Not sure why it is intermittent though.

Send me a private message if you want to try Encore Basic.

When you removed the files from within SleepyHead data folder in MyDocuments did you also remove them from the SD card?
March data should fall off and the detailed files shouldn't be put back on the SD card after 30 days?

Thanks again, no I don't want Encore. No I didn't delete anything from my SD card and it's all still on there - I think my doctor said it keeps it for a year.

I also use Sleep Mapper and it shows some AHIs above 50 for those days... I guess that could be - my sleep study reported something in the 70's. I was also coincidentally taking some serious pain killers those first couple weeks for a broken bone.

If you didn't delete those files from the SD card then that is why they came back when you imported again. Not because they were still in the machine's internal memory.
They have to be removed from the SD card as well as in SleepyHead.
The PR S1 doesn't keep all the files for a year on its internal memory..it keeps them about 30 days with the exception of the wave flow rate graphs which it doesn't keep at all and then the oldest starts getting written over on the machine's internal memory.
Now your doctor is only partially right...the machine will keep the summary usage data files for a year and then those start getting written over...again on the machines internal memory. It keeps what a doctor might look at...hours of use and overall AHI.
The SD card contents isn't ever changing like the machine's internal memory is.

Since SleepMapper is also seeing extremely high AHI.....maybe the SH bug isn't as much of a factor as I thought. And if that's the case...you have to live with the graphs as they are.
If you don't want Encore that's fine.
