For a fun time google "Apria sucks".

I didn't feel so bad when I saw others having a much worse time of it. A mom with an infant on tube feedings who could not get her baby's feeding tubes, get help with a malfunctioning machine, or get Crapria to deliver the correct feeding formula. Lots of disgruntled employees.

Thing is, Crapria doesn't care. They won big time in Medicare competitive bidding, the have gigantic exclusive contracts with HMOs. They can carry on with no changes because there's no consequences to their misdeeds. We are drops in the ocean to them.

From what I understand Apria way underbid to get the Medicare contracts and as a result cannot keep up with the work load. I think their intention was to put the small guys out of business but it may have back fired.

Anything else I can do besides call my insurance company Monday? Thanks for the help - I know this has happened to others, I was stupidly crossing my fingers that it wouldn't happen to me.
The answer to this is "I will get a new credit card from another company then. Thank you for your help". Then check out other companies. You can often get really good deal when switch companies.

Virtual CC number . . .

When dealing online or with a company that you do not trust 100%, get a virtual CC number from your card issuer; it can only be used one time

@hobbs - great advice, I didn't know you could do this.

@scootergirl - how did it go. Hope you were able to get it successfully reversed.

Thanks for all your great suggestions - I have them all written down. I was not able to call anyone yesterday - by the time I got home they were long gone. Today is the day - first call is insurance company. Then CC for a virtual number. Then Apria. I'm not putting up with this, that's for sure. I hope Horizon performs like they did the last time I spoke to them about a different matter and they call Apria - I'd rather not speak to them at all. Interesingly - the bill from apria had an option to pay by CHECK, so all those people they told they don't accept check? it's right on the bill. My question is - why did they charge my credit card THEN bill me for a lesser amount? That is just shoddy practice. I will be reporting them to as many places as I can if this goes poorly. I'll post later to update - thanks again - you all are such a great support!!!

Have you written Apria any certified letters yet? If you should decide to do so spend the extra bucks and attached a RRGC on the back so you get a signature to start a paper trail should you decide to file any complaints later. The few years I was with Apria I never experienced any problems; not one. I must have been lucky. The more I read these horror stories of patients having to deal with Apria these stories sound like experiences people I know here locally have had in having to deal with Lincare.

No I have not written the letter yet. I will definitely be doing that if that first do not take my cc off my account and second, insist on having a cc on file. I kind of want to make sure I don't back myself into something I can't get out of with my CC - we like this card, I stupidly used it for this. We don't want to cancel the card. I have been told that if the card is lost or stolen, then no one can charge on the old number and have it approved, which is something Visa said would happen if I just got a new card. I feel that I have to get my ducks in a row with my insurance - once the machine is mind - I can have my doctor write a new script for the supplies and go elsewhere. I'm not going to willingly be one of the long sufferers of Apria, that's for sure. Who knows, this may be a one time snafu...but judging from what others have said, I'm not optimistic about it.

I stopped by Crapria yesterday, and they printed out all my documentation--apparently it's in their system digitally.
They seem quite confident they will get me back after competitive bidding goes through. --in a pigs eye!
They expect to win; but they didn't even sign a medicare contract this year--just a regular provider--with upcharges
(I do not intend to darken their door again--even if I have to drive to Omaha! or further)
I took my papers with me, and expect to take them to ACS Medical today--then I get to find out what they left out!!!
I am ready to buy my next machine outright if necessary to get the right equipment.

Soooo, just got off the phone with my insurance provider....they are still in the process of contacting Apria. They are on hold so rather than keep me on hold, they'll call me back - I really like that my insurer does this. Now for the funny part - Apria hasn't submitted any bills to my insurer. They don't have 'em. So the bill that Apria sent - with the "Insurance states non-covered service" on the billed parts, as well as the Payments/credits listed - welp, they just don't know where apria is getting any of the information. I don't have any EOB's and my provider doesn't show anything other than Apria getting Authorization from them at the get go. So they think Apria doesn't have the correct member number for me. They did have the correct number to get my authorizations tho, because my insurance does show that. So whatever high jinks Apria is up to? My insurance has had more that one "issue" with them and they are not taking it lightly. And if Apria could go through the trouble of sending me a bill - which offers payment options of Check, online payment (fat chance I'd hook these idiots up to my bank account) and credit card....why did they charge my credit card?

Well, my provider called back - my balance with Apria is zero. You would think that's a good thing....but actually it's because they charged my credit card for the 521 AND another 70.75. Tomorrow I will be faxing a letter to apria to cease and desist. How I'm going to get my supplies is another matter - I have no idea. One thing at a time - right now my priority is to get them from continuing to charge my card.

I'm pretty sick to my stomach right now

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Really don't want to do that. But I may have to get a new card.

I'm not that far from them, but they're closed now......don't think it didn't occur to me. I did however regale my RRT over there with the issues - she had send me an email today about a new sleepmapper thingamabob. I'll be making more phone calls tomorrow - and faxes. Oh and just called my CC to dispute the lastest charge. From what the woman said to me, if my card was lost or stolen, then Apria could not make any further charges on my card.
