Man, that's ugly, Benny. And it sure doesn't look like OSA. Since this seems to happen to you only sporadically, can you draw any correlations with anything else (sleep hygiene, medication, stress, etc.)?Bennnyp wrote:http://s743.photobucket.com/user/Bennny ... b.jpg.html

I know. I get these about every 3 days. Nothing different. No alchohol, no nicotine, no caffine, nothing different. I am posting on this thread beacause I am currently on a bipap
and will be switching to an asv soon. So I can post later with my results from the asv, and then compare between the 2. Isn't what this post relates to?

Re: ASV vs CPAP - and the winner is...
Some people get very possessive of threads they start and object when conversations naturally evolve. In Todzo's case, I think he's upset that we haven't all immediately switched to straight CPAP with soda bottles attached to our hoses or whatever. I wouldn't pay it much mind.Bennnyp wrote:I am posting on this thread beacause I am currently on a bipap and will be switching to an asv soon. I will be very interested to see your results on ASV. Hope it works out for you!

BTW I think this last D/L deserves breath-by-breath analysis. Can you upload that file somewhere (Dropbox, etc.)? Use all the files from the SD card.

Should "Muffinalysis" be renamed the "Sludgometer"?Sludge wrote:BTW I think this last D/L deserves breath-by-breath analysis. Can you upload that file somewhere (Dropbox, etc.)? Use all the files from the SD card.
Re: ASV vs CPAP - and the winner is...
Well, Muffinalysis refers to the FFT program, and we can certainly run it through there. However, yeah, best to throw it in the Sludgomatic first.

Re: ASV vs CPAP - and the winner is...
I will have to figure out how to do that.

- Get an SD Card Reader (~10 bucks).
- Take SD card from machine, shove in card reader, shove CR into USB port on computer.
- Open account with 3rd party depository (Google Docs, Dropbox, etc).
- Upload the following files from SD card (basically all of them) to depository:
- DATALOG
- SETTINGS
- Identification.tgt
- Identification.crc
- STR.edf
- STR.crc

The Citation:
Morgenthaler TI, Kuzniar TJ, Wolfe LF, Willes L, McLain WC, Goldberg R. The complex sleep apnea resolution study: a prospective randomized controlled trial of continuous positive airway pressure versus adaptive servoventilation therapy. SLEEP 2014;37(5):927-934 Related article (commentary):833
Things noted while reading the article:
With Complex Sleep Apnea (CompSAS) they seem to be happy to get the AHI below ten (rather than five).
In the study pressures above 15 cm/H2O were excluded (usability?).
In both the ASV and CPAP arms each lost 36% because the participants did not use the machines enough during the three month study. With additional losses (drop outs – 6% on the ASV arm and 3% on the CPAP arm) only 54% completed the study to become part of the “evaluable participants”.
WOW only 54% at three months used the machine enough to be considerd evaluable.

I just wish those in the study showed improvement in Quality Of Life.
And more improvement in daytime sleepiness.
But I am glad that there is less potentially brain damaging hypocapnic central apnea going on. That is good!!!!!!!!!!
