Hi, I've been using CPAP for a little over a year now. Tried a Swift FX pillows first and had some problems keeping it in place. Switched to a Wisp, which has been much better. Have to use fabric frame, as the silicon is too stiff and isn't comfortable. Lately, I get some contact dermatitis around the frame touch points. The Wisp is ok, but is there anything similar I can try? I just saw the ResMed AirFit™ N10, which looks similar. I'm about to order a new mask and wondered if anyone could compare those two, or suggest something else.
Thanks,
Change Mask from Wisp?
Re: Change Mask from Wisp?
Whatever mask you use, you might be more comfortable if you also try the Pad-a-Cheek liners underneath to buffer little leaks and maybe help skin irritation (no I don't work for them... the designer's a member here and many of us use them though).
Re: Change Mask from Wisp?
Hmm...I'll look at what they have. I don't get any irritation from the mask itself. Actually, I have a goatee, and so it effectively fits mostly on facial hair anyway. It's around the temples where the frame causes problems (on the right side, since that's the side I sleep on 90% of the time). So the N10 looked interesting as it has fewer contact points of frame to face.Julie wrote:Whatever mask you use, you might be more comfortable if you also try the Pad-a-Cheek liners underneath to buffer little leaks and maybe help skin irritation (no I don't work for them... the designer's a member here and many of us use them though).

I haven't tried the Airfit N10 (looks like a close match to the Wisp) but I've tried the Swift Nano which is a good nasal pillow also. I also like the Mirage FX, I find it a little more stable than the Wisp (I alternate between the three Mirage FX/Wisp/Nano).

Just looked at the Swift FX Nano, and I think that's what I'll try. I tried the FX, and liked the headgear, but didn't like the nasal pillows pressure on my nostrils. So this seems the best of both worlds. Worth a shot, as the give me a new mask every three months anyway.flyingwithoutwings wrote:I haven't tried the Airfit N10 (looks like a close match to the Wisp) but I've tried the Swift Nano which is a good nasal pillow also. Remember the MOM procedure? (to veteran board members)
Smear Milk of Magnesia liquid on the place that is sensitive, let sit a few minutes, and wipe off the excess without rinsing.
The soft powdery film may serve as a barrier between the skin and the mask.
Cheap, and maybe worth a shot if you have to wait for a new mask.

Hope you like the Nano. Also, the Mirage FX I mentioned above is a nasal cushion, not pillows.slance66 wrote:Just looked at the Swift FX Nano, and I think that's what I'll try.
