all of a sudden, no matter what I do, I am woken up several times a nite by my FP ff mask leaking--I finally tightened it early this am and i am exhausted and have ridges on my face--why are some nites so good and some so bad? I am actually thinking about going back to my breeze tonite. Any suggestions appreiated!

pharmwoman,
We are finally getting a little warm weather here in CT what i have noticed with my F&P is that if I sweat the mask will start sliding around.
I don't have to be really sweaty for it to happen just a little moist and the bottom will slide around.
I have attached a 1/4 inch wide strip of moleskin to the bottom just above the part that goes under your chin, It has helped stabilize the mask and reduce leaks.
May not work in your case but it's a simple fix worth a try

If you mask isn't leaking, you aren't doing something right. The F & P 431 and probably all ff masks tend to do a dance in the early morning hours due to moisture, sometimes we get them too tight and they still keep leaking.
If it wasn't a distraction and a pain, we could wash our face again and the mask seal off, but it's just easyier to pull it tighter and pray. Jim
