Sleepmapper Huh?

Post by Scootergirl » Sun Mar 30, 2014 11:42 am

I do have a brick of a machine, but it does have Sleepmapper. I just uploaded my information and I have had this machine on and in use everynight since Monday....that should read 6 days of use. Can anyone tell me why Sleepmapper is only showing I used it the past two nights? Very strange. If this is what they use for compliance, it's totally inaccurate.

Don't ask me, I'm still trying to figure out HOW to upload it, since I can't seem to find a Bluetooth button on my machine (which is the same as YOUR machine, far as I can tell.) In the overall, I thought Sleepmapper was junk, looking for other software in another tab at this very moment.

I think your machine is Data Capable - mine is not - it only records usage hours for compliance - but still I wanted to see that it's recording correctly. I just took the card out of the CPAP machine and put it in the cardreader on my laptop - I had already downloaded the software onto it yesterday.

I don't want to have to change it's name to "Sleepcrapper".

They don't use SleepMapper for compliance. DMEs and doctors use Encore and it will show all nights of use.
And yes...for some reason SleepMapper doesn't pick up all the past usage. Don't know why but I ran into the same thing when I tried SleepMapper. I had months and months of usage and it only started showing with the most recent night.
SleepMapper is pretty much useless even if you didn't have a brick machine. It doesn't show anything more than what you can see on the LCD screen in terms of useful data.
SleepMapper with a full efficacy data machine just shows hours of use...overall AHI average and leaks in terms of how much time was spent with leaks being within acceptable limits.
The LCD screen only shows % of time in large leak...SleepMapper shows what percent of the time leaks weren't an issue.

SleepCrapper...actually a fairly good description.
I removed SleepMapper because it was wanting to access the internet all the time and not just when I wanted it to...that and it's pretty lame.

If you want compliance data...Encore Basic is probably your best option but I need to know what operating system is on your computer to make sure.

Thanks, Pugsy. Glad to know it's not something on my end. I use Windows 7. I'm hoping to hear back from the DME tomorrow about exchanging my machine - I've been studying those links you gave me, so hopefully I'll be able to present a solid argument if they give me any sass. Thanks again!

With Windows 7 or older computer and unless someone has the model 960 PR S1...EncoreBasic is what I recommend from Respironics.
SleepyHead will also work and that's what I use for 95% of my looking at software reports.
It's all the same data...just presented visually a bit differently. SleepyHead is much easier to manage.
I have links to SleepyHead in my signature line.
For Encore send me a private message if you want to try it. Anyone else reading this...include computer operating system and machine model number please....it makes a difference in what I would recommend. Basic won't install on Win 8.xxx so we have to do something else. It will save both of us time and headaches if I know what we are dealing with ahead of time.
Plus some models won't work with anything but Encore Pro.
Those that think "Pro" must be "better" than Basic because of the name...it isn't. The reports are identical.

EncoreGuide link this will show you examples of what you will see. For a different machine than yours but the basics are the same.
