New to the APAP world
Hello all!! I'm new to using the APAP machine (on day 7) and was wondering... I noticed that before I started treatment that when I got up in the morning I would feel wide awake like I never went to bed and not have that just woke up feeling. I'm assuming it's because I never really fell in to a real good deep sleep the night prior. Now that I'm using the APAP, when I wake up in the morning I have that groggy, yawning and stetching feeling and I am assuming it's because I got a good solid deep sleep and my body is waking up. Am I assuming the right thing? Using the F&P ICON+

How many hours of sleep are you getting? Are those hours of sleep fragmented...wake up often?
Which F & P Icon + are you using? The Auto?
Have you evaluated the data it gathers to make sure therapy is optimal and/or leaks aren't impacting the situation.

Without seeing any data (take Pugsy's suggestion) - I'd be tempted to say you will need to give your therapy more time to settle in and your brain/body to realize this is the new deal. Try not to get discouraged, most people don't strap on a CPAP mask and get immediate trouble free results. It takes time to sort things out IMO.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Re: New to the APAP world
I started Cpap three weeks ago and I know what you mean - before CPap I would wake up before the alarm and feel wide awake. Now, the alarm wakes me and I feel like I could certainly get some more sleep. But I do feel rested, if that makes any sense. I think I'm sleeping so well for the first time in such a long time, and I'm definitely working on a big sleep deficit, that my body is wanting more of the good sleep I'm getting. I've checked the numbers on my machine and I'm doing well - no leaks, AHI is down low etc. So maybe what you're feeling is your body craving more of the good sleep you're finally getting? Definitely check your numbers and see how you're doing.24 year Soldier wrote:Hello all!! I'm new to using the APAP machine (on day 7) and was wondering...
